Expiry: Never

  1. 1.
    >You walk along the trail through the Everfree Forest
  2. 2.
    >Ponyville has been rocked by a rash of disappearances near the forest but none of that worries you much
  3. 3.
    >You came through there many years ago without hastle and besides, Twilight Sparkle says it's safe, no reason not to believe her
  4. 4.
    >Although you do feel some unease about the forest this time, as though something is watching you, you carry on
  5. 5.
    >With hearthswarming eve around the corner you don't have much on your mind except making your family proud by bringing home some firewood to stay warm
  6. 6.
    >It fills your growing filly heart with pride strapping a log to your sled to bring home
  7. 7.
    >It's a much simpler life than when you were a human.
  8. 8.
    >The toil of a minimum wage job was about as hard as life in equestria but work in equestria was infinitely more rewarding
  9. 9.
    >With a smile your earth pony legs get to work as your hooves dig into the mud to get the log moving
  10. 10.
    >You shove against your horse collar with all your might trying to prove your growing filly body was just as strong as the biggest stallions, maybe as strong as big mac you tell yourself
  11. 11.
    >As you pull the log to the trail you stop to take a breather
  12. 12.
    >You hear some faint whispers in the forest as your ears flick wildly trying to find out where the sound is coming from
  13. 13.
    >The silence is palpable as your heart begins to pound, 'im just imagining things' you tell yourself as your jet black mane flows in the chilly wind
  14. 14.
    >You drop your horse collar to check the log and make sure it's well secured
  15. 15.
    >It's not a long trip back to ponyville but having to get the log back on the sled again would not be a fun endeavor
  16. 16.
    >Your hear a twig crack which sends shivers down your back
  17. 17.
    >You nervously scan the woodline wondering if it's a timberwolf, a bugbear, or even a cockatrice, but as you see nothing there, you start to relax
  18. 18.
"It's ok nonny, if it wanted to hurt you it would be chasing you right now"
  19. 19.
    >You tell yourself as you pull the straps tight
  20. 20.
    >You glance up to see a human
  21. 21.
    >Despite your surprise your face lights up with joy
  22. 22.
    "Somepony else made it!"
  23. 23.
    >You cheer with joy ignorant of the danger you're in
  24. 24.
    >"Wait, why aren't you a pony? I lost my stallion bits and everything, that's not fair."
  25. 25.
    >You whine as the human creeps closer
  26. 26.
    >Something is strange with this human and you start to question why the human is silent
  27. 27.
    >Your first week in equestria was filled with crying and asking why ponies can talk but this human seems entirely unphased
  28. 28.
"Um, hello? Yes, you. I know you might be wondering, where you are, you're in equestria!"
  29. 29.
    >The human seems to be doing everything to gain your attention without saying a word
  30. 30.
    >Despite wanting to give your fellow human a warm welcome to equestria, you grow increasingly frustrated with the lack of response
  31. 31.
"You can talk to me you know, i know english, asshole"
  32. 32.
    >You gripe before hearing the faint sound of leaves crunching underfoot behind you>Before you can react the humans rush you
  33. 33.
    >You scream in panic as one jumps on your back and quickly lashes a bridle to your muzzle
  34. 34.
    >Your teeth clench down on the metal bridle as you try to shake off your attackers
  35. 35.
"No! Stop! What are you doing!"
  36. 36.
    >You beg as the lasso tightens around your neck tighter as you pull away
  37. 37.
    Why are you doing this?!
  38. 38.
    >You quickly beg before the straps to your harness get tightened down
  39. 39.
    >You struggle to get words out as your words slur around the bridle
  40. 40.
    >With the ropes tightening around your legs you fall to dirt throwing the human off your back
  41. 41.
    >Despite your kicking and crying you struggle against the ropes as the tears flow wondering why a human would do something so cruel
  42. 42.
    Twi-ght he-p!
  43. 43.
    >You beg against the bridle as the humans discuss their plans
  44. 44.
"You were right, this one isn't a unicorn, i was worried there"
  45. 45.
"Ok, bring the cart around, we will have to tranq this one. This one isn't being cooperative"
  46. 46.
    >Desperate for any kind of favor you beg past the bridle
  47. 47.
    "P-ease, i- b-have"
  48. 48.
    >You fearfully promise wiggling in your ropes flinching as the human pinches your flank
  49. 49.
"No, i- Be good, I- be good"
  50. 50.
    >You tearfully beg feeling the pinch of the needle
  51. 51.
    >As the human steps away you finally get a good look at the humans
  52. 52.
    >Your confusion grows even stronger as you try to remember how you got to equestria in the first place
  53. 53.
    >As the drugs start to take effect the ropes and harness start to feel numb
  54. 54.
    >All you can remember is leaning against a plinth and seemingly falling into an ocean of bliss
  55. 55.
    >Did they come through to equestria the same way i did?
  56. 56.
    >The drugs cloud your mind as your start to think more philosophically
  57. 57.
"Humans in equestria are too impure to become ponies"
  58. 58.
    >You slur past your bridle fighting off the urge to sleep as the humans wait like vultures
  59. 59.
    >You smile remembering fondly having your stallion parts taken from you
  60. 60.
    >Mare bits are more pure anyway, you tell yourself
  61. 61.
    >Your head falls to the ground as it's weight becomes too much to bear
  62. 62.
    >Glancing up to your human captors, your eyelids become too heavy
  63. 63.
    >With pleasant dreams taking over, the humans begin their work tightly binding your limp legs
  64. 64.
    >Being hauled onto the cart you give equestria one last smile before you fade into your dreams
  65. 65.
    >You startle yourself awake realizing it was all a terrible dream. Taking a breath you look around your surroundings to see you're safely inside twilight's castle
  66. 66.
    >Hugging your pillows tight, you're thankful that the humans coming to take you back to the human world were just a dream
  67. 67.
    >Why you wound up in twilight's castle though is still a mystery
  68. 68.
    >Was it real, did the humans actually try to get me?
  69. 69.
    >If so, why take me to the castle instead of taking me home
  70. 70.
    >You ask yourself making your way through the maze like corridors
  71. 71.
    >In the candlelight you see Twilight up for another late night study session
  72. 72.
    >You want to ask her what happened but you pull your hoof back not wanting to bother her
  73. 73.
"Oh, hi nonny, you're awake, i wish i had better news, but didn't find anything on a spell to get you back to the human world"
  74. 74.
    >Her words hit you with intense confusion,
  75. 75.
    >you haven't asked her about a portal to the human world in years, so many hearth's warmings spent with your new family, you almost forgot about the human world all together.
  76. 76.
    >Your silence causes twilight to turn around and make sure it is you
  77. 77.
    >With her suspicion confirmed she wonders what could be wrong and realizes you probably want to go by your human name instead
  78. 78.
    >Understandable, the transformation from a man to a filly is a very tough and twilight is very accommodating
  79. 79.
"Oh, sorry Michael, I'll still use your Human name if it makes you feel better"
  80. 80.
    >Twilight smiles trying to reassure the distraught filly
  81. 81.
    >You reel with distress hearing your name, you almost forgot what it even sounded like.
  82. 82.
    >Michael Gomez, that's right! You sniffle as you're flooded with memories of the human world
  83. 83.
    >You can't help but crumble under the agonizing thoughts of your mom wondering where you are and that she will never know
  84. 84.
    >Twilight brings you into her embrace as her chest soaks up your tears
  85. 85.
    >Why did i have to go to equestria
  86. 86.
"It's ok Michael, we are going to find a way to get you back to the human world, you just have to imagine yourself going home and giving your family a warm hug"
  87. 87.
    >Twilight explains holding you in her tight embrace
  88. 88.
"I just want my family back"
  89. 89.
    >You sniffle into the cold uncaring castle library"
  90. 90.
"Your family is closer than you think Michael, just close your eyes, imagine them holding and hugging you once again."
  91. 91.
    >Twilight softly explains trying to comfort you
  92. 92.
    >You clench your eyes shut desperate for any chance of seeing them again
  93. 93.
    >You feel twilight's embrace slip away, vanishing as you try to hold on
  94. 94.
    "Twilight!"
  95. 95.
"Keep your eyes shut little filly, you're almost there"
  96. 96.
    >With a worried whine you obey
  97. 97.
    >Silence permiates everything as the sensations grow numb, the floor beneath you seems to fade away as you whine
  98. 98.
    "Twilight!"
  99. 99.
    >You ask with no response
  100. 100.
    "Twilight, please! Don't leave me"
  101. 101.
    >An odd sensation rises inside you as you feel freefall
  102. 102.
    >Thrashing your hooves in panic your eyes shoot open
  103. 103.
    >You scan your cell with dread, twilight was just a dream, the humans were real but where are you?
  104. 104.
    >Am i still in Equestria?
  105. 105.
    >Where did the humans come from?
  106. 106.
    >Who's responsible for this?
  107. 107.
    >As your body starts to regain its senses, you realize you've been sleeping in a puddle of drool
  108. 108.
    >Laying in your hay filled pin you struggle to your hooves with a groan
  109. 109.
    >Your legs wobble as you've never seen such a structure in equestria
  110. 110.
    >A closer look reveals cinder block
  111. 111.
    >This must be the human world you think to yourself with excitement trying to crane your little filly neck to see over the door of your stable
  112. 112.
    >You see the hustle and bustle of humans going about their business
  113. 113.
    >With your bridle hung up on the wall you can finally talk but you wonder how safe it is
  114. 114.
    >As you look around you see many other ponies in their stables as the humans discuss them
  115. 115.
    >You point your ear up to get a listen
  116. 116.
"This one here is Sweetie Plum, she's a well behaved Unicorn, she rents for a premium, she can perform simple magic tricks, perfect for a birthday party pony ride, the package we discussed includes transport, handling, and all the care the pony needs for 4 hours, she is a talking pony and she will even sing happy birthday for your little girl too
  117. 117.
    >You glance up to see the lavender mare submitting to pets from her potential renter
  118. 118.
"Oh, so this one talks too, oh my daughter will absolutely love this"
  119. 119.
    >The tall balding human cheers as Sweetie Plum smiles gracefully desperate to avoid the human's wrath
  120. 120.
    >You slink back down behind the stable door wondering what this place is.
  121. 121.
    >Poor Sweetie Plum has been missing for almost a year and here you are with her
  122. 122.
    >Your heart wrenches inside your chest
  123. 123.
    >Even the unicorn has been trapped here by the humans
  124. 124.
    >Is this your fate, to be a party rental pony for the rest of your life
  125. 125.
    >The menacing straps and harnesses hanging on the walls tell you of your fate with terrifying certainty
  126. 126.
    >Hyperventilating the panic causes the tears to flow,
  127. 127.
"You have to let me go, im not a pony, im a human! Please you have to let me go!
  128. 128.
    >You tearfully beg desperately trying to keep your mind together
  129. 129.
"Please, you don't understand! Im not supposed to be here!"
  130. 130.
    >You shriek as the humans pound on your stable door
  131. 131.
    >You scramble away from the door as the human opens the stable door
  132. 132.
    >You cower in the corner looking up to your human captor with fear almost as though you're looking at a gigantic monster
  133. 133.
    >The gruff ranch hand makes it clear he means business just from his mere presence as he kneels down to talk to the new filly
  134. 134.
"I don't know where you think you can get away with talking like that without permission"
  135. 135.
    >The ranch hand cracks his crop and teases your flank menacingly
  136. 136.
"There is no going back, there is no letting you go, you are ranch property now. Your dear princess Celestia will not find you here"
  137. 137.
"But you don't understand, im not a pony"
  138. 138.
    >A stinging whip to your flank quickly silences any protest as you gaze with fear
  139. 139.
"Don't back talk me pony. Things can get alot more difficult for you if you fight back. Im talking whips, branding, breaking, everything to break you down till you become a good little pony just like everyone else"
  140. 140.
    >His hand roughly grabs your muzzle and forces you to lock eyes
  141. 141.
    >Your heart flutters at the thought of being a pet, you look up to the saddle and harnesses up on the wall and it makes your mare bits tingle with delight
  142. 142.
    >No, you have to focus on escape! you tell yourself with enthusiasm
  143. 143.
    >But as your heart pounds you feel an unsettling hand run through your mane and down your side
  144. 144.
    >You flinch as it reaches your flank and gives it a squeeze
  145. 145.
    >You whine with disgust trying to move your head away but the ranch hand holds your muzzle firm
  146. 146.
"You will choose the easy way, right? It'd be a shame to have to scar up this soft hide of yours"
  147. 147.
    >Desperate for the ranch hand to go you quietly nod
  148. 148.
"Good little pony, before too long a feller from the Bureau of Land Management will come and sign your papers. I don't want to hear any human words coming out of your mouth when he does so.
  149. 149.
    >He squeezes your muzzle shut even tighter
  150. 150.
"Do i make myself clear pony?"
  151. 151.
    >With his grip holding firm all you can do is nod
  152. 152.
"Good, not a peep out of you or I'll have that flank tore to peices."
  153. 153.
    >He throws you to the hay as you scramble back into the corner terrified of the ranch hand.
  154. 154.
    >With the stable door shutting behind the human you finally get a moment to breathe but dare not make a sound
  155. 155.
    >The reality hits hard, this isn't some fantasy, this is real, you're a slave, a pet, your sole purpose is the satisfaction of other humans
  156. 156.
    >You hold your jet black tail for comfort ducking in fear every time a human glances over your door
  157. 157.
    >You quietly sulk in the stable
  158. 158.
    >You hear the other ponies come and go as they make their way out for events parties
  159. 159.
    >Your thoughts wander
  160. 160.
    >You were a pony in equestria
  161. 161.
    >Becoming a pony was a hard adjustment but you were atleast in equestria
  162. 162.
    >Now being dragged back to the human world and still being a pony seemed like a cruel irony
  163. 163.
    >Atleast in the human world you could finally reunite with your family
  164. 164.
    >That is if you were free
  165. 165.
    >The crushing pain of being a prisoner far away from home, any home repeatedly stabs at your stomach, even with all the hay available, you have no appetite
  166. 166.
    >You wish nothing more than to see a familiar face
  167. 167.
    >Just then the stable door opens
  168. 168.
    >Your heart leaps with joy, could it be rescue, could be be a chance to escape
  169. 169.
    >Your hopes are dashed as you see a uniformed BLM officer
  170. 170.
"Ok Jeff, give me a minute with the pony and I'll sign off on the title, just have to verify there's no microchips, brandings, or any other identifyable marks of ownership"
  171. 171.
    >The officer explains shutting the stable door behind him
  172. 172.
    >Even with the boots stepping away you look to the officer with suspicion knowing that a single word to the officer could result in beatings or worse
  173. 173.
"Ok, im officer knowles, what's your name little pony"
  174. 174.
    >Your thoughts scatter and only seem to reset when the microchip scanner activates
  175. 175.
    "What?"
  176. 176.
    >You cautiously ask wondering if this is a trap
  177. 177.
"Yes, you, i know you can talk"
  178. 178.
    >The officer waves his wand around typical chipping spots
  179. 179.
"This ranch has been finding all these bright colorful ponies and some even have magic horns. Finding out you can talk was the least surprising thing here."
  180. 180.
    >With no beeps the starts looking through your coat for any signs of potential chip removal or any health problems
  181. 181.
"I take it your name isn't Nonny Moose, they've all had something cute like Apricot Pie or something, so what name do you want on here"
  182. 182.
    >Your heart pounds wondering if this is your chance, maybe he can help you but how much are you willing to trust him
  183. 183.
    >Once he signs those papers, it's effectively over, you'll be a slave to the ranch for the rest of your life
  184. 184.
    >You have to try
  185. 185.
    >Screw the consequences
  186. 186.
    "My name is Michael Gomez"
  187. 187.
    >You blurt out trembling with fear with the officer's confused reaction
  188. 188.
"What, is that a name you heard from one of the ranch hands?"
  189. 189.
    >Cowering at the officers dismissal you boldly double down
  190. 190.
"No, im actually a human, i went to this pony world and turned into a pony. I disappeared a few years ago. I might be on a missing person list"
  191. 191.
    >The officer scoffs. Magic talking ponies was already hard to believe, but a human becoming a talking pony was another thing entirely.
  192. 192.
"Is that the story you want to go with? Just because you can talk doesn't mean you can just waltz out of here free"
  193. 193.
    >Officer Knowles jokes knowing as much as he'd like to free the sentient ponies there's nothing he can do.
  194. 194.
    >Your heart quivers as the adrenaline flows
  195. 195.
    >your only chance to get away slips away from your hooves
  196. 196.
    "It's not a story, it's the truth!"
  197. 197.
    >You yell before hushing your voice again
  198. 198.
    >You fear one of the ranch hands could be listening as you whisper
  199. 199.
"Please, im telling the truth, i remember my mom's phone number."
  200. 200.
    >Your eyes pour out emotion as you plead to the officer
  201. 201.
"Just call her and ask if she knows a Michael Gomez, that's all i ask"
  202. 202.
    >The officer is indignant
  203. 203.
    >He can't help but smirk at this nonsense of being a human that turned into a pony
  204. 204.
    >Hearing the pony repeat the same phone number over and over does intrigue him
  205. 205.
    >He puts the number into his phone and questions how silly it is that he is even considering the green pony's story
  206. 206.
    >He tells himself it's no different than calling a number if he found a microchip
  207. 207.
    "Her name is Maria."
  208. 208.
    >You add as you see the officer hesitating
  209. 209.
    >Your ears perk as you hear the phone dialing
  210. 210.
"Hello, this is officer Knowles with the Bureau of Land Management, am i speaking with a Maria Gomez?"
  211. 211.
    >The officer is already shocked the phone number went through but when the woman responds to the name the pony gave, he gives you a stare of disbelief
  212. 212.
"Im doing good, im calling in regards to a Michael Gomez, do you know-"
  213. 213.
    >The officer nearly stumbles in disbelief
  214. 214.
    >He looks to you as though he's seen a ghost
  215. 215.
    >The voice on the other end of the line brings the officer back to reality
  216. 216.
    >His voice trembles not sure what to say
  217. 217.
    "Mama, it's me, im alive!"
  218. 218.
    >You yell as you hear cheering over the phone
  219. 219.
"Is that my son! Is that him?"
  220. 220.
    >Officer Knowles finally finds words
  221. 221.
"Yes, if you can verify his identity then uh, we can, uh see what we can do here. I will send a text to this number with the information we have here, alright, im glad to give you the good news. Take care"
  222. 222.
    >You roll around in the hay whinnying with joy
  223. 223.
    >Someone knows where you are
  224. 224.
"Hell yea! Get me outta here officer"
  225. 225.
    >You cheer as the officer finishes his texts
  226. 226.
    >Officer Knowles doesn't share your enthusiasm
  227. 227.
    >He knows this is just the beginning of a long drawn out process
  228. 228.
    >Afterall, you are simply a pony in the eyes of the law
  229. 229.
"I can't get you out of here, all i can do is file paperwork for a disputed title"
  230. 230.
    >Your hope is crushed as soon as it's stoked
  231. 231.
"What do you mean, my parents are coming to get me right?"
  232. 232.
"No, all it means is the ranch can't claim your title till the dispute is resolved. Till then you're ranch property"
  233. 233.
    >Your hooves grasp at the officers uniform
  234. 234.
"That won't take long will it? It should be quick right?"
  235. 235.
"Im not a lawyer but it's entirely possible that the court may side with the ranch since your parents have no way to prove they owned you"
  236. 236.
    >The officer regretfully admits wishing he could do more to help
  237. 237.
    >The denial strikes hard as your rump plops down onto the straw
  238. 238.
"Can't you just say you found a microchip and that was the number it gave."
  239. 239.
    >The officer fills in the paperwork as a disputed title clearly shaken by the revelations
  240. 240.
"I'd love to help but im not going to commit perjury on your behalf."
  241. 241.
    >The stress makes you want to vomit
  242. 242.
    >Your stomach churns as you collapse onto the straw
  243. 243.
    >You finally let the emotions flow bleating out a haunting wail that can be heard throughout the stables
  244. 244.
    >The officer packs his tools and patiently waits at your side stroking your mane to try and help you feel better
  245. 245.
"I gave your mom the information she needs, it's up to your parents and the courts now and i hope for the best."
  246. 246.
    >Watching you burst into tears and collapse onto the floor nearly wrenches the heart out of the officer's chest
  247. 247.
    >His only solace is a shred of disbelief the story could be true
  248. 248.
"I'm sorry Michael, i really am"
  249. 249.
    >The officer tearfully apologizes as he leaves the stable wondering if he has made a grave mistake
  250. 250.
    >The only hope left is to let the courts decide the little pony's fate
  251. 251.
    >He gives the news of the disputed title status to the to the operator
  252. 252.
"What do you mean disputed! they're wild horses, did you find a chip, if so i want to fucking see it"
  253. 253.
    >Officer Knowles wants to leave before the situation escalates but he is obligated to fulfill his duty and explain the process
  254. 254.
"Look Jeff, i know all the others have been straightforward, you take good care of the ponies, none of them had any identifyable owners but this one did and i was able to contact the other party and they're disputing the title. At this point it will have to be resolved in court. Im just informing you of your rights right now"
  255. 255.
    >Jeff huffs with anger
  256. 256.
    >he doesn't know exactly when the portal will close again or if it will open again
  257. 257.
    >He is hell bent on getting as many ponies through as possible
  258. 258.
    >Even one going into dispute and getting into the wrong hands can slow his progress and even worse make competition
  259. 259.
    >With the officer not being forthcoming with the information he fears two possibilities
  260. 260.
    >Officer Knowles is somehow trying to take the pony for himself
  261. 261.
    >Or the pony talked and managed to convince the officer he had an owner to try and escape
  262. 262.
    >Given how good Knowles has been about all the other ponies so far, he decides the latter of the two scenarios is more likely
  263. 263.
    >He thought he made himself clear to the pony but he imagines that pony will need a much more permanent lesson
  264. 264.
"Well, i appreciate you officer, you're doing your job. Im sure this dispute will amount to nothin"
  265. 265.
    >Jeff tips his hat to the officer as he climbs up into his truck
  266. 266.
    >Turning to his ranch hand with his fist clenched in rage he utters his orders
  267. 267.
"Heat the irons, this pony is gonna learn a lesson in keeping her mouth shut"
  268. 268.
    >Jeff grabs a bridle off the hook and gives you a stern scowl
  269. 269.
    >In an unsettlingly friendly tone he opens the door to your stable
  270. 270.
"Come here little mare, time for you to start your training"
  271. 271.
    >You initially cooperate as it makes no sense to upset your captor
  272. 272.
    >You hear hushed whispers about you going to "the shed" which cause you to hesitate when Jeff pulls your lead
  273. 273.
"I wasn't asking you little mare, come along"
  274. 274.
    >He growls with a forceful pull of your lead dragging you out of the stable before you obediently trot along side
  275. 275.
    >You look to the worried expressions of the other ponies peeking over their doors to see who's going to the shed
  276. 276.
"It's just some training nonny, we're going to make sure you know what's expected of you"
  277. 277.
    >Jeff explains opening up the shed were a couple ranch hands are waiting
  278. 278.
    >Your hooves stamp firm in the ground as the fear starts to creep in
  279. 279.
    >The whips, the various bits of harnesses, and red hot branding irons stir your paranoia
  280. 280.
    >This isn't training, this is punishment!
  281. 281.
    >Jeff pulls your lead as you dig into the dirt
  282. 282.
    "No! No!!!"
  283. 283.
    >You scream as the ranch hands rope your hind legs and drag you into the shed
  284. 284.
"You bitch, you talked to the officer didn't you! You think you're fucking slick spinning a fucking story about having another owner so you can escape! It doesn't work like that little pony"
  285. 285.
    >The lead gets violently pulled through an anchor on the floor of the shed despite all your effortyou can't pull your face from the floor leaving your flanks exposed in the air
  286. 286.
"I expect a certain level of cooperation from my ponies and they all understood immediately. I don't worry about them trying to escape or spinning a web of lies. They know when to obey and keep their mouths shut. You, you just didn't get the hint, i promised you pain and that's what you're gonna get"
  287. 287.
    >The crack of a whip rips across your flanks as you shriek in pain kicking your hooves frantically trying to buck anything in range
  288. 288.
    "Get her tied down!"
  289. 289.
    >Jeff orders giving the whip a crack in the air to startle you
  290. 290.
"Good ponies keep their heads down and make me happy. I have these ponies booked out for months in advance, day in day out making money. I don't have time to deal with a rebellious little bastard like you"
  291. 291.
    >Your hind legs get tied to the anchors in the floor giving you barely any room to wiggle
  292. 292.
    >Jeff snakes the whip across the floor menacingly before giving your flank another strike
  293. 293.
    >Your teeth clench the bit of your bridle as you tremble instinctively trying to kick against the ropes binding you
  294. 294.
"Every red cent i spend to keep you in my possession is going to be earned back with interest you little fucker. You should have just done what you were told and you would have been fine. I'd could have had you saddled up and shipped off by now making me money if you just kept your fucking mouth shut!"
  295. 295.
    >Jeff growls with anger unleashing his wrath on your flanks with unyeilding fury
  296. 296.
    >His ire turns to the stunned ranch hands sitting idly in the corner
  297. 297.
"Get out of here! Go make yourselves useful!"
  298. 298.
    >Jeff takes a breath as the ranch hands flee out the door
  299. 299.
    >As the door slams shut you and Jeff share a moment
  300. 300.
    >He kneels in front of you running his fingers through your mane
  301. 301.
"Im going to give you one chance to tell me little pony, what did you tell the officer, who did you say your owner was"
  302. 302.
    >Expecting to be hit or in some otherway abused you instinctively flinch and bite down on your bit not saying a word
  303. 303.
    >You hold till you hear the boots turn on the gravelly floor
  304. 304.
    >Without any hits or even verbal abuse you question what the psycho cowboy is up to
  305. 305.
    >He disappears behind you as you hear the clinking of metal causing your paranoia to run wild
  306. 306.
"So now you decide it's the time to keep your mouth shut. Thats fine, i warned you though"
  307. 307.
    >He explains examining the branding iron and making sure it's nice and hot
  308. 308.
    >Without warning he jabs the red hot rod into your flank
  309. 309.
    >The excruciating pain sends shockwaves through your body despite the rod only contacting your hide for less than a second
  310. 310.
    >The burning sensation works it's way deep as you kick and struggle at the restraints
  311. 311.
    "Better get talking little po-"
  312. 312.
"Okay! I told the officer i had an owner!"
  313. 313.
    >You boldly interrupt still reeling from the intense pain of the burn
  314. 314.
    >Happy to see some progress he teases the hot rod between your legs so you feel it's heat dangerously close to your mare bits
  315. 315.
"Good little mare, tell me everything you told him, verbatim. If we go into discovery and i find out you hid information from me i will not be nearly as merciful."
  316. 316.
    >He threatens setting the iron back into the searing hot coals.
  317. 317.
    >You clench your bit tight as your front hooves slide uselessly across the floor
  318. 318.
"If you don't get talking, i will burn your precious cutie mark right off your flank"
  319. 319.
    >You take his threat deadly seriously
  320. 320.
    >any advantage you may have by keeping information from him is not worth having your body mutilated in the process
  321. 321.
    >You reluctantly start to spill the secrets as you hear the metal clinking once more
  322. 322.
"Ok! I told him my mom's phone number and he was able to confirm she was my mom and my "owner"
  323. 323.
    >Jeff takes issue with the pony's description of the pony's owner being 'mom'
  324. 324.
    >He coaxes more answers out of the pony playing with the irons to keep the fear high
  325. 325.
"What do you mean by mom, like she raised you from a foal?"
  326. 326.
    >Your heart quivers with fear, you fear no answer you give will be satisfactory but you tell the truth anyway
  327. 327.
"No, im a human, she gave birth to me. I went through a portal to the pony world and you captured me"
  328. 328.
    >Despite the revelation of his victim being a former human, Jeff has no change of heart
  329. 329.
    >Instead he finds it answers alot of questions about why you seemed so oddly familiar with humans
  330. 330.
    >Testing the pony's commitment to this story he draws the iron out of the coals once more
  331. 331.
    "You lying sack of shit!"
  332. 332.
"It's the truth, i swear! I was born a human and turned into a pony when i went to world"
  333. 333.
    >Jeff holds the burning hot rod close to your face, the white hot glow hurts your eyes in the dark of the shed
  334. 334.
"If going to the pony world turns you into a pony, then why haven't any of my guys turned into ponies, can you answer that?"
  335. 335.
    >You struggle to pull away from the burning hot rod as it's heat singes the hairs on your coat
  336. 336.
"I don't know, i just became a pony, I don't know what else to tell you"
  337. 337.
    >You beg with desperation floating on every word
  338. 338.
    >The jab of the rod in your flank sears your flesh once more
  339. 339.
    >Despite your distressed screams Jeff holds the rod much longer and forcefully against your flank till you collapse trembling in agony
  340. 340.
    >Finally pulling the rod away and placing it back in the embers Jeff demands answers
  341. 341.
"Im only going to ask one more time. If it turned you into a pony, why hasn't the portal turned anyone else into a pony or any pony into a human for that matter"
  342. 342.
    >Afraid to answer you clench the bit in your mouth and leak tears onto the floor
  343. 343.
"Please, I don't know, I really don't know, magic just does things in that world. There are ponies who dedicate their entire lives to magic and still don't understand."
  344. 344.
    >Your sobs fill the small shed as Jeff stands over you
  345. 345.
    >The growls with anger wishing he had answers or atleast a guarantee that he nor any of his guys will suffer Michael's fate.
  346. 346.
"I guess im asking the wrong pony. You're not a unicorn, you don't have magic anyway."
  347. 347.
    >Jeff steps away towards the door pacing wondering what if anything could come from these revelations
  348. 348.
    >He drafts an email to his lawyer giving over any information he can
  349. 349.
    >The last thing he needs is a legal challenge over his pony's status as a human or a pony
  350. 350.
    >With the sobs quieting and all the useful information extracted, he has only just started having fun
  351. 351.
    >The revelation of his pony being a human trapped in a pony body makes the abuse far more exciting
  352. 352.
    >The ponies are just animals he thinks to himself with a smile grabbing a saddle off the wall
  353. 353.
    >Slamming the saddle onto your back and strapping it down he relishes in the suffering of his helpless victim
  354. 354.
"Time for some training little mare, you have to be ready for anything. After all, my customers are a demanding bunch. They require perfection"
  355. 355.
    >You whine with disgust as your legs are finally untied
  356. 356.
    >Jeff takes a hold of your lead and unties you from the floor
  357. 357.
    >You limp lightly
  358. 358.
    >The pain from your burns flares with every step
  359. 359.
    >With a strong tug of the lead Jeff leads you to the door
  360. 360.
"Come along little mare, let's practice your strut"
  361. 361.
    >Your hooves tremble but stay planted on the floor
  362. 362.
    >Jeff's game is obvious
  363. 363.
    >It's not training, it's humiliation
  364. 364.
    >You chomp down on your bit glaring as the crop gently runs along your flank
  365. 365.
    >>42881852
  366. 366.
    "Fuck you..."
  367. 367.
    >You cautiously utter through your clenched teeth
  368. 368.
    >With a well aimed crack of the crop on your burn your body trembles in shock
  369. 369.
    >You stumble before quickly limping back to your hooves
  370. 370.
"Don't get smart with me little mare, now get those hooves up. I want to hear your best trot"
  371. 371.
    >He slaps his crop against your flank once more
  372. 372.
    >You're happy this one wasn't on the burn again so you obediently try your best
  373. 373.
    >Jeff has you trot along side
  374. 374.
    >Despite the pain from the burns you keep your hooves high
  375. 375.
    >Anything to keep your owner happy
  376. 376.
    "You're losing the cadance, it's 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 keep those hooves high!"
  377. 377.
    >Jeff smiles giving your rump another strike with the crop.
  378. 378.
"Are you sure you're human? Look at you, you a fine proper show pony. Such a beautiful trot."
  379. 379.
    >Jeff smirks carefully watching for any hints of resistance
  380. 380.
    >The words strike fear into your heart but you obediently continue your trot
  381. 381.
    >Even as the exhaustion slowly creeps in you maintain the demanding cadance
  382. 382.
"My customers will definitely agree: best pony ever, so calm and obedient."
  383. 383.
    >Jeff hears a silent whimper as he presses on
  384. 384.
"Im sure the judge will think the same thing too...what an adorable mare, she looks so cute with her little saddle"
  385. 385.
    >The fear starts to manifest as your cadance waivers
  386. 386.
    >Swiftly correcting your misstep, Jeff cracks the crop against your flank his face nearly sporting a full grin
  387. 387.
"You'll impress the judge so much, he might even say, hell, lets throw out this silly born a human nonsense, little mare was born for ponyrides"
  388. 388.
    >Jeff adds as he catches a glimpse of a tear running down your cheek
  389. 389.
    >Your eyes water as the hope fades away
  390. 390.
    >Your mind falls into the robotic trotting cadance as the fear consumes you
  391. 391.
    >Is this going to be my life, being a stupid little show pony
  392. 392.
    >Your mind goes to your parents, as you manage to crack a smile and find some strength to hold on
  393. 393.
    >Jeff catches a glimpse of your smile
  394. 394.
    >Despite his best efforts he has failed to make you utterly miserable
  395. 395.
    >He realizes what's keeping you together
  396. 396.
    >Hope
  397. 397.
    >It wasn't enough to just say the judge wouldn't think you're human
  398. 398.
    >No, nobody could be convinced of your humanity, not even your parents
  399. 399.
    >You have to believe that too
  400. 400.
    >That's the only way i can ensure this pony's compliance, i have to be the only person left in their life that cares about them
  401. 401.
"What would your parents think? My son is a pony? huh, not a chance"
  402. 402.
    >Jeff adds trying to provoke a response from you
  403. 403.
"He was a strong boy not a some little pony on a ranch in the middle of nowhere"
  404. 404.
    >You pant with rage the doubt starts to worm it's way into your mind
  405. 405.
    "You're wrong! They'll know it's me!"
  406. 406.
    >You blurt out fearing a swift and harsh reprisal but instead you're met with a smug smile from your captor
  407. 407.
"Are you sure about that little mare? You're a talking magic pony, a lying talking magic pony isn't that much of a stretch now is it."
  408. 408.
    >You listen as your heart pounds with adrenaline
  409. 409.
    >What is he getting at you think to yourself
  410. 410.
"Just imagine me telling your parents: oh, these ponies are something else alright. They can read minds, they can seek out your fears and desires."
  411. 411.
    >You groan with distress as you try your best to ignore him
  412. 412.
"They use that those tricks to try and manipulate the best of us. We're professionals, we can tell when these ponies are up to their tricks so be mindful when talking to the little mare"
  413. 413.
    >Your trot stumbles as your emotions consume you
  414. 414.
    >My parents will know it's me!...right?
  415. 415.
    >Your eyes sting and your nostrils burn
  416. 416.
    >Overwhelmed with sadness you finally stop and tremble in place
  417. 417.
    >Crying and shivering with despair you lower your head
  418. 418.
"These little ponies are relentless, and will say anything to get what they want, you cannot trust them."
  419. 419.
    >Jeff adds as he gives your lead a tug pulling you back to the stables
  420. 420.
    >The sobbing is music to Jeffs ears as you submissively follow behind
  421. 421.
"Nobody will ever believe you little mare"
  422. 422.
    >Your howling cries echo as the door to your stable is opened and you're lead inside
  423. 423.
    >Jeff unclips your harnesses and saddle leaving you to sulk on your pile of hay
  424. 424.
    >With his work complete, Jeff shuts the door with a satisfied smile trilled for his visitors visit
  425. 425.
    >You bury yourself in the straw trying to find some comfort
  426. 426.
    >Who am i kidding, he's right
  427. 427.
    >Nobody will believe some talking pony
  428. 428.
    >Your heart implodes with another loud sob.
  429. 429.
    >The idea of your own parents not being able to recognize you already hurts as it is
  430. 430.
    >The thought of your own parents being convinced not to believe you is too much to bear
  431. 431.
    "Please! Mom, Dad, im here!"
  432. 432.
    >You weakly cry in a pathetic display of desperation
  433. 433.
    >You hear the sounds of another pony giving in to the sorrow and quietly sob in their stable
  434. 434.
    >The shared sorrow does little to comfort you
  435. 435.
    >Even if you manage to get out of here, you will be leaving your fellow ponies behind
  436. 436.
    >The guilt grips you as you desperately try to think of a way for all of you to get out but it's hopeless
  437. 437.
    >The ranch hands are too strong and their lassos are deadly accurate.
  438. 438.
    >Even if you all did escape, a human world that would never let a pony live free
  439. 439.
"You win Jeff, i will never be anything more than a pretty show pony."
  440. 440.
    >You cry finally admitting defeat and rolling over in the straw
  441. 441.
    >A familiar stallion voice whispers through the wall
  442. 442.
    "Nonny? Nonny, is that you?"
  443. 443.
    >You try to put a face to the voice. Someone you haven't heard in years
  444. 444.
    >Could it be? But he left ponyville 2 years ago
  445. 445.
    "Cinnamon Twist? Is that you?"
  446. 446.
"Yes, it's me, please tell me Twilight knows we're here, somepony atleast."
  447. 447.
    >The stallion begs with the desperation carrying on his voice
  448. 448.
    >Your excitement withers as quickly as it comes
  449. 449.
"No, i told my family i was going to get some firewood that's all anypony knows"
  450. 450.
    >Cinnamon Twist's head thumps against the wall
  451. 451.
"That's what everypony has said. Nopony knows where we are"
  452. 452.
    >Cinnamon quietly laments having come used to the disappointment of years as Jeff's slave
  453. 453.
"That's unfortunate for us. What about you Nonny. I heard your human family is coming to get you"
  454. 454.
    >He asks trying to cheer you up
  455. 455.
    >The silence fills him with worry
  456. 456.
"If atleast one pony managed to escape this place, it would being me much joy"
  457. 457.
    >You manage to stir yourself from the straw and lean against your shared wall
  458. 458.
"Yea, they're supposed to come sometime next week but I don't know what will come of it"
  459. 459.
    >You admit not wanting to crush Cinnamon's hopes like you've already done for yourself
  460. 460.
"Even if i did end up leaving, I'd be leaving everypony behind. I don't know if i could live with myself"
  461. 461.
    >Cinnamon's hoof taps the wall
  462. 462.
"Nonny, you have to do what's best for you, it's too late for us but you still have a life to live, a family to reunite with here"
  463. 463.
    >The guilt drags you down even if you could overcome the doubt
  464. 464.
"But what about everypony else. You'll all be stuck here. I can't just leave"
  465. 465.
    >Cinnamon shushes you
  466. 466.
"Nonny, it's not the end of the world. Some of us are making the best of it. Berry Plush and i had a foal together here. Isn't that wonderful? She's our little ray of sunshine and when i see her, i know everything going to be fine."
  467. 467.
    >Cinnamon Twist finally sniffles wiping away some tears with his hoof.
  468. 468.
    >The sniffle tells all, the idea that Cinnamon's foal will never see equestria weighs on both of you
  469. 469.
    >Your voice quivers as you try to refute him but can't find the words
  470. 470.
"I have to do something though"
  471. 471.
    >Cinnamon Twist shakes his head tapping his head against the wall
  472. 472.
"The only way we are getting back to equestria is if one of the princesses knows we're here. No need for you to be stuck here too. You need to promise me Nonny, you won't give up. You're not just some show pony, you're more than that. Make us proud to see that one of us can leave this place behind"
  473. 473.
    >Cinnamon smiles retuning to the comfort of his straw pile
  474. 474.
    >Your mind goes to your parents
  475. 475.
    >You want nothing more than to hold them in your embrace
  476. 476.
    >You can't let Jeff win
  477. 477.
    >You'll have to convince them somehow and you will
  478. 478.
    >You'll be with your family one way or another and keep all these ponies in your heart
  479. 479.
"I won't give up Cinnamon. I'll make everypony proud"
  480. 480.
    >You smile pulling yourself out of the doom spiral
  481. 481.
    "Even your little foal"
  482. 482.
    >You tearfully smile hopeful for the ponies here to find joy
  483. 483.
    "What's the filly's name anyway."
  484. 484.
    >Cinnamon's eyes light up with joy as he lets out a joyous sigh
  485. 485.
"We decided to name her Berry Twist. A fun play on our names she has my coat and her mother's mane. She's just so precious."
  486. 486.
    >You blush with envy some part of you has wanted a foal for yourself but the thought always weirds you out
  487. 487.
"Are you with her right now? She sounds precious"
  488. 488.
    >Cinnamon's smile fades, as he lay on the straw alone
  489. 489.
"No, she's with Berry Plush. Jeff says he doesn't trust me to be around her unsupervised."
  490. 490.
    >You growl with anger, Jeff's cruelty knows no bounds but Cinnamon continues
  491. 491.
"According to him stallions in this world hurt foals so he watches over us when we're in the corral together"
  492. 492.
    >The idea of having a stallion to walk along side with a little foal toddling along makes you slip into dreamy fantasy
  493. 493.
"Atleast you still get to be with Berry Plush and Berry Twist. I hope Jeff lets you stay with them for a night"
  494. 494.
    >Cinnamon remains optimistic imagining cuddling his mare on the straw with their foal between them
  495. 495.
"Yea, I've been on my best behavior. I think even Jeff has noticed that so we'll see. Im going to get to bed Nonny. Jeff has me booked back to back tomorrow so I'm going to be gone sunrise to sunset. We'll talk tomorrow, just behave yourself and listen to Jeff. i know this is going to be a hard adjustment but again, it's not the end of the world, besides, you'll be gone in a week"
  496. 496.
    >Cinnamon smiles laying his head on the straw proud to help his fellow pony feel better
  497. 497.
    >Feeling strangely optimistic, you lay your head on the straw too.
  498. 498.
"Thanks for talking with me Cinnamon, i wasn't myself there for a bit, i needed that."
  499. 499.
    >You smile finally getting cozy on the straw
  500. 500.
    "Anytime Nonny, good night"
  501. 501.
    "Good night Cinnamon"
  502. 502.
    >You whisper finally able to settle on for some sleep
  503. 503.
    >The big day has come and you pace in your stall
  504. 504.
    >Your parents are supposed to be here any minute and you pace back and forth
  505. 505.
    >Your heart pounds as every footstep has you looking over the door to see if it's them
  506. 506.
    >Sound of the trucks pulling in over the gravel gives you a panic attack every time
  507. 507.
    >Keep calm Michael, you got this they'll know it's you
  508. 508.
    >You chant to yourself as the sound of another truck pulls up to the stables
  509. 509.
    >You carefully listen ad hear Officer Knowles voice once more
  510. 510.
    >Your heart pounds as you pace over the straw again breathing heavily
  511. 511.
    >You hear boots enter the stables as you try looking over the door
  512. 512.
    >You hear the lock slide open and back away as the door swings open
  513. 513.
    >Officer Knowles gives your mane a gentle stroke before he steps aside
  514. 514.
    >What you see instantly breaks any rehearsal you may have had
  515. 515.
    >Your eyes instantly flood with tears as you see your mom and dad cautiously approach you
  516. 516.
    >You throw yourself into your mom's arms throwing your hooves around her bawling
  517. 517.
"Mom, dad! I thought I'd never see you again!"
  518. 518.
    >You cheer as you feel some apprehension in your mom's embrace
  519. 519.
    >You're suddenly reminded of Jeffs words
  520. 520.
    >Nonody will ever believe you little mare"
  521. 521.
"This is the pony here that claimed to be your son Michael Gomez. As we discussed, he recited your phone number and name. That was enough for me to call the title into dispute. If you want to claim this pony that is your right but it will have to go through the legal process and the courts will have to resolve the title dispute"
  522. 522.
    >You start sensing the lack urgency and a sense of doubt as your mom's embrace loosens
  523. 523.
"How do we know for sure he's our son?"
  524. 524.
    >Your heart shatters hearing your own mother call into question yiur sincerity
  525. 525.
"Yea, the guy who runs this place says they can read minds and shit"
  526. 526.
    >He's gotten to them you think to yourself
  527. 527.
    >You struggle to breathe as your chests tightens
  528. 528.
"Mama, don't listen to that guy he's just saying that so you leave me here"
  529. 529.
    >Your desperation doesn't go unnoticed
  530. 530.
    >You scramble to remember what you wanted to say
  531. 531.
"Mama, remember when i was a kid and I'd stand on my stool and mix the guacamole so i could say i helped with dinner?"
  532. 532.
    >Maria whimpers
  533. 533.
    >She has longed to see her son again for so long the mere mention of memory is enough to convince her
  534. 534.
    >Even though her memories recall a happy human boy, she clings to the little mare
  535. 535.
    >She wants nothing more than to have her son back
  536. 536.
    >This little mare might be the closest thing she will get to that, even if it's not real
  537. 537.
"Oh Michael, i never gave up hope!"
  538. 538.
    >She cries suffocating you with her hug
  539. 539.
"Maria, don't be ridiculous. It read your mind. It's just saying this to get out of here. The guy said it would do this"
  540. 540.
    >You hold your mom harder crying trying to fight the pain of the accusation
  541. 541.
"Dad, please, i'm telling the truth!"
  542. 542.
    >You mind scours for happy memories with your dad
  543. 543.
    >You instantly go to the Ranchero your mind floods with joy recalling the Ranchero taking road trips in and and sitting between your parents barely able to look over the dash
  544. 544.
"Dad, remember the Ranchero, do you still have it!"
  545. 545.
    >Your dad's eyes widen for a second before the doubt start to fill his mind again.
  546. 546.
"Yea, i still have it. I love that car..."
  547. 547.
    >He cautiously adds suspicious of the alleged mind reading pony
  548. 548.
"My favorite thing was going to Uncle Robert's orchard and doing donuts in the orchard flying around in the bed with my cousins. It was the best"
  549. 549.
    >He briefly flashes a smile before clenching his teeth
  550. 550.
    >He feels some anger well up inside him upset that some mind reading pony is stealing his memories of his prescious son
  551. 551.
    >He chokes up as he relives the memory
  552. 552.
    >The happy terrified squeal of the boys being drowned out by the roar of the ford 302
  553. 553.
    >He steps away finally cracking under the weight of his emotional pain
  554. 554.
"Damn it Maria, get away from that thing. It's not our son!"
  555. 555.
    >Mom clenches you tighter as you reciprocate in turn feeling comfort in her embrace
  556. 556.
    >Emanuel! This is him, i can feel it! He's our son.
  557. 557.
"Maria! It's just reading our memories and telling us what we want to hear! It's not real!"
  558. 558.
    >He shoves you away as you have to stumble back to your hooves
  559. 559.
    >Your heart rips in your chest as you collapse back to the floor
  560. 560.
    >Maria wants to comfort you but she hesitates not sure what to believe
  561. 561.
    >You want to beg but the words just fail to form as you simply sob
  562. 562.
    >He won, you think to yourself collapsing to the floor, he fucking won
  563. 563.
    >Jeff stole your family from you
  564. 564.
    >They're in your hooves but theyre slipping away refusing to believe
  565. 565.
    >Officer Knowles steps in standing between you and your parents
  566. 566.
    >He looks down to you with pity feeling sorry for the little pony
  567. 567.
"Mr and Mrs Gomez, do you acknowledge this pony as your son?"
  568. 568.
    >You look up to your dad with pleading eyes
  569. 569.
    >Please, you know it's me! Your watery eyes beg
  570. 570.
"No, i don't think this is my son"
  571. 571.
    >The words out of your own father's mouth devastate you
  572. 572.
    >You cannot muster the energy to fight back
  573. 573.
    >You lay on the cold concrete listening to the conversation unfold without you
  574. 574.
    >Officer Knowles looks to you wanting you to fight but your defeated silence causes the officer to sigh with disappointment
  575. 575.
"Do you still want to pursue a dispute on the pony's title?"
  576. 576.
    "No"
  577. 577.
    >Emanuel brashly yells trying to usher Maria back to the car
  578. 578.
    >You see them turn for the door
  579. 579.
    >Heavy hesitant footsteps as they keep turning to look back at you
  580. 580.
    >There's still doubt you tell yourself
  581. 581.
    >You get a rush of strength and clarity to finally for some words
  582. 582.
    >You pull yourself off the concrete and yell with all your might
  583. 583.
    "Dad! I wrecked your Ranchero!"
  584. 584.
    >They stop in their tracks
  585. 585.
    >Your dad turns around in confusion
  586. 586.
"What do you mean? My son never wrecked the Ranchero, he never even drove it"
  587. 587.
    >Despite your desperation you hesitate
  588. 588.
    >Dad loves his Ranchero more than life itself
  589. 589.
    >Sometimes you wonder if he loved it more than you but can't blame him
  590. 590.
    >You take a breath and get it off tour chest
  591. 591.
"Joseph and i were playing in the car and i wasn't thinking. I played with the shifter and it popped out of gear. It started rolling and i couldn't press the brake hard enough and it rolled down the hill into the tree. Joseph and i got out and ran and we agreed to never talk about it."
  592. 592.
    >You hang your head in shame taking your eyes off your stunned dad for just a second.
  593. 593.
    >Before you can look back to him, you get body slammed
  594. 594.
    >You fear dad might be trying to kill you but as you hear your manly father break down in sobs
  595. 595.
    >You relax and let yourself be crushed in his embrace
  596. 596.
"Michael, oh my god! He's my son! He's my son! Oh my god, im so sorry. Im so sorry."
  597. 597.
    >He cries as your mom drops everything to join the family embrace
  598. 598.
"Michael, where were you...and why are you a pony?"
  599. 599.
    >Maria asks stroking your mane and wiping your tears
  600. 600.
"I don't really understand how it happened either, i was walking over to a friend's house after school and i leaned up against a statue and i fell through it. I was turned into a pony and i couldn't find a way back i found a world full of ponies and they started taking care of me there. I've been there ever since"
  601. 601.
    >You briefly explain as your journey has been long enough to fill plenty of books
  602. 602.
"I don't mean to interrupt the happy moment here but, if you would sign this, all it says is you intend to dispute the title on your son here"
  603. 603.
    >Your dad gets up standing between you and the officer
  604. 604.
"There's nothing to dispute, that's my fucking son right there. He's coming with me and that's it, I'll fucking kill anyone who tries to take my son from me again!"
  605. 605.
    >Officer Knowles gives your dad a stern look before handing over the clipboard
  606. 606.
"Just sign this, I can't let you take your son, i know as a parent it must be devastating but legally the pony will remain in Jeff's possession till the title dispute is resolved"
  607. 607.
    >Your dad takes the clipboard and reads the dense legalese with rage
  608. 608.
"What do you mean title, he's a person not a fucking car he shouldn't even be here"
  609. 609.
    >Officer Knowles takes a step back to try and deescalate and hopefully explain the process
  610. 610.
"Mr Gomez, im sorry. I don't make the laws. I totally agree your son should absolutely go with you but we have a process to resolve these disputes and you'll have to make your case in court. All i can do now is file the paperwork and explain your rights to you."
  611. 611.
    >Your dad shakes the clipboard in fury
  612. 612.
"What about HIS rights. He's a human fucking being. Doesn't he have rights too. He's fucking keeping him like a slave and shit."
  613. 613.
    >Your dad feels you nudge up against his hand
  614. 614.
    >His anger almost seems to melt away as his hand runs through your mane
  615. 615.
    >You lean against your dad trying your best to comfort him
  616. 616.
    >Despite how upset you all may be, you know threatening people is going to do nothing but put people in jail
  617. 617.
"Dad, it's ok. I'll be safe here. Just do what you need to do with the cop."
  618. 618.
    >You're pulled tight as your dad doesn't want to let go.
  619. 619.
"I lost you once. Im not going to lose you again."
  620. 620.
    >He whispers with sorrow as he grapples with the injustice
  621. 621.
"As long as you know that I'm here and that im alive. Thats all that matters"
  622. 622.
    >You whisper back leaning against your dad as your mom joins in the embrace
  623. 623.
    >Your dad takes a deep trembling breath before looking at the clipboard.
  624. 624.
    >The lengths they have gone to to dehumanize his son fills his heart with pain
  625. 625.
    >He signs the document anyway
  626. 626.
"Fucking ridiculous that i have to fight to keep my own fucking son"
  627. 627.
    >Emanuel growls giving Officer Knowles the clipboard back
  628. 628.
    >Officer Knowles lowers his head in shame watching the parents stand between him and the pony
  629. 629.
"I agree sir, it's a travesty. I have felt so much remorse for every pony here but i have to do my job and enforce the law. With this being signed you've started the first step in getting your son back. At this point it's up to the courts."
  630. 630.
    >He directs the parents to the door of the stables and they refuse to budge
  631. 631.
"The owner of the property is only required to allow you on the property long enough to identify the horse. Now it's time to leave Mr Gomez. Michael is in good hands here, all the animals here are well looked after and he will be no different"
  632. 632.
    >Maria hugs her son tight
  633. 633.
    >She strokes her little pony's mane before giving a big kiss on the forehead
  634. 634.
"I don't care what you are Michael, i will always love you. We will be back. We promise!"
  635. 635.
    >She quietly but passionately swears before gently leading her husband away
  636. 636.
    >You follow but as you get to the door of the stables your hooves hesitate to follow
  637. 637.
    >As they walk over to their car, you're overwhelmed with joy
  638. 638.
    >The nightmare will be over soon you think to yourself
  639. 639.
    >You trot in place waving your hoof in the air
  640. 640.
    "Mom, dad, i love you!"
  641. 641.
    >You cheer as your parents get back into their car
  642. 642.
    >Even as they leave and you see Officer Knowles explaining the situation to Jeff
  643. 643.
    >Your hopes are high
  644. 644.
    >So much so you even give Jeff a smug smile
  645. 645.
    >You return to your stable as Jeff follows behind
  646. 646.
    >The scowl on Jeff's face brings joy to you as the stable door slams closed
  647. 647.
"You think you're smart little mare? All you did was make it more difficult on yourself. Now lawyers are gonna have to get involved and it's gonna be a long expensive process. I sure hope your parents have deep pockets because will bury them"
  648. 648.
    >Jeff threatens trying to keep his anger in check
  649. 649.
"Why don't you just give up, im only one pony. You have almost 2 dozen ponies here. My parents just want-"
  650. 650.
    >Jeff rips his hat off his head and slams his fist against the door
  651. 651.
    >You shrink back against the wall terrified of the seemingly unhinged violent outburst
  652. 652.
    "It's the principle of it"
  653. 653.
    >Jeff growls
  654. 654.
    >Jeff tries to understand his own feelings
  655. 655.
    >Even his own lawyer questioned the rationale behind pursuing legal action for a single pony while the business operates in a legal blindspot
  656. 656.
    >These ponies are by any metric sentient creatures and a court might agree
  657. 657.
    >Jeffs heart pounds with adrenaline coursing through his veins
  658. 658.
    >It's a risk worth taking to keep this one he tells himself
  659. 659.
    >This human might be smug now but when little mare is under my whip with the law on my side, she will be utterly powerless to stop me
  660. 660.
    >Jeff puts his cowboy hat back on and regains his composure
  661. 661.
    >None of these ponies can have hope
  662. 662.
    >Jeff tells himself slipping away from the door letting himself think
  663. 663.
    "You'll see little mare"
  664. 664.
    >Jeff ominously whispers
  665. 665.
    >He turns for the door finding himself yearning for a whip to teach that human (mare) a lesson she'll never forget
  666. 666.
    >You peek over the door to see if he's finally gone
  667. 667.
    >As the stable door closes you sigh with relief thankful Jeff left
  668. 668.
    >Your mind burns with anxiety furiously trying to understand what he meant
  669. 669.
    >"It's the principle of it, youll see little mare"
  670. 670.
    >Those words echo in your mind
  671. 671.
    >They sound like the words of a man who will fight through hell to keep you under his thumb
  672. 672.
    >The princple is clear: all the ponies are his to control
  673. 673.
    >All ponies are meant to serve him
  674. 674.
    >Any one pony getting away upsets the natural order of the world as he sees it
  675. 675.
    >Your hooves quake with fear
  676. 676.
    >You wish everypony here could go back to families and loved ones but that is a lofty dream
  677. 677.
.>all you want is to be with your family again and that will be a hard won battle
  678. 678.
    >You groan with fear
  679. 679.
    >Your fate is in the hands of the system
  680. 680.
    >Being a human at one point, you know the human world is full of injustice and you fear is you and your family might just be it's next victim.
  681. 681.
    >The worst part is all you can do is wait and see
  682. 682.
    >You pace in your stable
  683. 683.
    >You keep hearing that it'll be only a few more days for weeks
  684. 684.
    >You hold your head high though.
  685. 685.
    >You will be home for Christmas, you're sure of it
  686. 686.
    >You hear a car pull up to the stables
  687. 687.
    >You get your hopes up again trying to look over the door
  688. 688.
    >You expect to see Officer Knowles but you see the cowboy hat and you back yourself into the corner
  689. 689.
    >You expect an angry outburst
  690. 690.
    >You know he lost the court case and he's going to beat you into a pulp
  691. 691.
    >The bootsteps stop at your stall
  692. 692.
    >You brace for whatever happens
  693. 693.
    >He won't break you
  694. 694.
    >You'll go home with your head held high no matter what
  695. 695.
    >The silence is broken by the sound of paper being unfolded
  696. 696.
    >You see a piece of paper slipped under the stall door
  697. 697.
"Go on, read it little mare"
  698. 698.
    >You cautiously approach the door to read the paper
  699. 699.
    >Certificate of ownership
  700. 700.
    >Your name
  701. 701.
    >Judges signature
  702. 702.
    >Jeff's name
  703. 703.
    >You stumble and take a seat unable to believe the papers in front of you
  704. 704.
    >They lost...how?
  705. 705.
    >You ask yourself as you feel your stomach curl
  706. 706.
    >The nauseous whine you make is drowned out by a smug laugh
  707. 707.
    >Jeff relishes in the delight of his victory
  708. 708.
"What did i tell you little mare, i was going to bury them and bury them i did. Quite pricey but you'll be paying that back real soon".
  709. 709.
    >He laughs and allows you to whine and let your panic attack ride
  710. 710.
    "You can't, you're lying."
  711. 711.
    >You cry as he folds the title back up and slips it into his coat
  712. 712.
"Oh I’m not lying little mare, signed, sealed, delivered, you're mine"
  713. 713.
    >You start a fit of coughing genuinely fearing you will vomit on the floor
  714. 714.
"Oh, go on, get it all out of your system little mare. Im gonna give you a few days to rest up and be ready to shipped out. Had a couple customers excited about my little emerald green pony. I reckon i can have you booked up a few months in advance or more"
  715. 715.
    >He adds antagonizing you further
  716. 716.
"You can't do this to me! Im a human too"
  717. 717.
"Not according to the law! You are my property little mare, i can have you processed for meat you ungrateful little shit"
  718. 718.
    >Jeff yells kicking the stable door to add to your distress
  719. 719.
"So when i have you loaded up for a job you better be smiling saying: 'thank you Jeff for not turning me into barbecue!"
  720. 720.
    >The sobs echo through the stables as Jeff takes a breath
  721. 721.
"Will you be a good little mare?"
  722. 722.
    >You look up to the smug cowboy leaning over the door and avert your eyes with disgust
  723. 723.
    >You want to resist but the terrifying thought of being butchered for meat sends shivers down your spine
  724. 724.
    >What choice do i have? You ask yourself
  725. 725.
    >You whine with despair
  726. 726.
    >Where are your parents, where's Officer Knowles, why isn't anyone helping you!
  727. 727.
"I'll be a good little mare, Jeff"
  728. 728.
    >You painfully cry
  729. 729.
    >Jeff isn't satisfied.
  730. 730.
    >He wants nothing less than this pony's total submission
  731. 731.
"Oh no, it's not Jeff anymore little mare. It's master now. Better get used to it"
  732. 732.
    >The pain of defeat crushes you
  733. 733.
    >He won, he fucking won and now he is excited to make it your problem
  734. 734.
    >Jeff knocks on the door to get your attention again
  735. 735.
"What will it be, are you gonna be a good little mare?"
  736. 736.
    >You can't even lift your head as you pathetically whimper
  737. 737.
    "Yes master."
  738. 738.
    >Jeff smiles
  739. 739.
"Yes what? Look at me when you're talking to me, i can't hear you!"
  740. 740.
    >You choke up even harder
  741. 741.
    >Your face is wet with tears as you manage to lift your head
  742. 742.
    >Your sight is blurred from tears as you do what needs to be done
  743. 743.
"I'll be a good little mare, master"
  744. 744.
    >You see Jeff's evil smile spread across his face
  745. 745.
    >It's a look that strikes fear into your heart as you meekly lay on the straw in your stall
  746. 746.
"Good little mare, we'll have another training session tomorrow. I hope you're ready"
  747. 747.
    >Jeff teases excited to whip his new pony into shape
  748. 748.
    "Yes master, I'll be ready"
  749. 749.
    >You whimper with a trembling voice hearing bootsteps approach
  750. 750.
    >Could it be rescue? Officer Knowles? The possibilities run wild till you hear the familiar voice of one of the ranch hands
  751. 751.
"Hey boss. Look what i got"
  752. 752.
    >Jeff leans away from door
  753. 753.
"WHAT! what could possibly need my attention right now!
  754. 754.
    >The startled ranch hand opens up the sack and reveals a pale yellow red maned filly
  755. 755.
    >Jeff's tone instantly changes
  756. 756.
"A filly? How'd you get this one I've been wanting a filly for a while"
  757. 757.
    >Applebloom squirms her way out of the sack finally getting a good look at her captors
  758. 758.
"Im not scared of you. Applejack and big mac will buck you till there aint a good bone left in your body"
  759. 759.
    >Applebloom yells with her charming country accent
  760. 760.
    >Jeff leans down and pinches the filly's cheek
  761. 761.
"Aw, aren't you just adorable, you're even wrapped up in a little bow for me. Might wanna watch your tongue around your new owner little filly"
  762. 762.
    >Applebloom's eyes widen in terror
  763. 763.
    "Owner?"
  764. 764.
    >Jeff chuckles at the filly's naivety
  765. 765.
"That's right little filly, you're mine now"
  766. 766.
    >Applebloom's eyes dart around the stables seeing the faces of ponies that have been missing from ponyville for years and her jaw trembles
  767. 767.
"Soon you'll be just another one of my little ponies. Don't feel bad i take good care of my ponies"
  768. 768.
    >The initially bold little filly starts to panic as her voice trembles with desperation
  769. 769.
"You won't get away with this T-Twilight will save us"
  770. 770.
    >Jeff laughs hearing about this twilight pony again
  771. 771.
"Oh, the princess of friendship, im so scared. Listen little filly, there's no hope for you here, nobody has escaped. I've been hearing about this twilight pony for years and i have yet to see her. Nobody is coming to save you"
  772. 772.
    >Jeff smiles taking delight in the filly's terror
  773. 773.
    "Leave Applebloom alone!"
  774. 774.
    >You blurt out feeling pity for the poor filly
  775. 775.
    >Jeff scowls in the direction of your stall
  776. 776.
"Applebloom, that's a cute name for a filly"
  777. 777.
    >He pulls Applebloom along as she drags her hooves along the concrete
  778. 778.
"Nonny, since you've taken an interest in our little filly here, how about you give her the run down on how things work around here and how her attitude can lead to some not so great outcomes for her"
  779. 779.
    >The stable door opens and Applebloom takes a quick look
  780. 780.
    >Though she only knows you as the strange newcomer to Ponyville, she rushes in
  781. 781.
    >Applebloom throws her hooves around you looking back to make sure the humans don't follow
  782. 782.
    >Despite being in fear yourself, you put on a brave face for the little filly
  783. 783.
    >As you cling to each other the door shuts
  784. 784.
    >Jeff leans over the door taking delight in the cowering ponies in the stall
  785. 785.
"You've outdone yourself on this one Johnny. You all keep saying that forest on the other side of the portal is super dangerous. Im surprised a filly was in there all alone"
  786. 786.
    >The ranch hand smiles taking pride in his handiwork
  787. 787.
"Yea, it was a surprise to me too. I leapt at the opportunity and wrestled her to the ground. She was light enough to carry back"
  788. 788.
    >Leaving the stables and leading the ranch hand off to other business around the ranch, Jeff has a laugh
  789. 789.
"Good work Johnny, you are earning your keep for sure"
  790. 790.
    >With the humans finally gone Applebloom cracks and cries against your chest
  791. 791.
    >You hold the filly tight mostly for your own comfort however you know poor Applebloom must be devastated
  792. 792.
"Applebloom, what were you thinking. What were you doing in the Everfree Forest"
  793. 793.
    >You ask genuinely upset that the filly got herself wrapped up in this nightmare
  794. 794.
"I was helping Zecora gather ingredients for a potion and-"
  795. 795.
"Why! Look at all these ponies in here, you know the forest is dangerous"
  796. 796.
    >You whine with disbelief
  797. 797.
    "But i-"
  798. 798.
    >Applebloom tries to respond before being cut off
  799. 799.
"No buts! You should have known better than to go through the forest alone-"
  800. 800.
    >Applebloom speaks up hitting your chest with her hoof
  801. 801.
"But i wasn't alone! I was with Zecora"
  802. 802.
    >You immediately go to respond to her but the words finally process in your mind
  803. 803.
"Wait, you were with Zecora? What happened to her?"
  804. 804.
    >You ask afraid they caught her too
  805. 805.
    >The ranch hand didn't mention anything about a Zebra
  806. 806.
"We were going through the forest and she told me to hide. She disappeared and next thing i know im being tackled by some hairless monkey"
  807. 807.
    >You briefly take some offense to the pony racism but you realize the implications of what the filly has said
  808. 808.
    >Somepony knows where we are!
  809. 809.
    "They didn't get Zecora?"
  810. 810.
    >You cheer with joy squeezing the life out of Applebloom
  811. 811.
"Did you see where the portal is?"
  812. 812.
    >You ask as your heart pounds with hope
  813. 813.
"Yes, it's a collection of rocks a short walk up the trail"
  814. 814.
    >Applebloom manages to squeeze out trying to breathe
  815. 815.
"Do you think Zecora saw where the portal is?"
  816. 816.
    >You ask afraid to get your hopes any higher than they already are
  817. 817.
"I don't know, i didn't see her after she left"
  818. 818.
    >Even though she doesn't know for certain you know that Zecora of all ponies would be able to help
  819. 819.
"Don't worry Applebloom, if Zecora saw you go through the portal then Applejack and Twilight will save us!"
  820. 820.
    >You quietly cheer as a trailer backs up to the stables to unload some ponies from their day
  821. 821.
    >You keep it down fearing the word of potential rescue might spread
  822. 822.
    >The ranch hands start unloading the ponies
  823. 823.
    >The hustle and bustle of stall doors opening and closing frightens Applebloom
  824. 824.
    >Applebloom flinches every time she sees a human peering over the door
  825. 825.
    >you start whispering to Applebloom holding the filly tight
  826. 826.
"Don't be afraid Applebloom, the humans won't hurt you"
  827. 827.
    >She whines and buries her face in your face
  828. 828.
"What do they want with us, why won't they just let us go?"
  829. 829.
    >You wish you could give an optimistic answer but you know exactly what motivates the humans
  830. 830.
    >You comfort the filly and take a breath
  831. 831.
"They make bits off of us. They rent us out to other humans for parties because in this world ponies don't talk and humans will pay lots of bits to play with talking ponies"
  832. 832.
    >Applebloom's hooves hold you harder as she sniffles
  833. 833.
    >You decide it's important for her to know exactly what she has gotten herself into
  834. 834.
    >As you struggle to say the words you feel immense guilt
  835. 835.
"The humans like unicorns and pegasi but Jeff has been wanting a filly for the extra cute factor"
  836. 836.
    >Applebloom's heart shatters realizing she's been reduced to cattle
  837. 837.
    >You comfort you as she starts to break down again
  838. 838.
    "But why? it's not fair!"
  839. 839.
    >You don't have an answer for her but you know the only thing that can possibly cheer her up is hope
  840. 840.
"It's not fair, that's why they're going to get what's coming to them. When Zecora gets Princess Twilight these humans are gonna get a nasty surprise."
  841. 841.
    >Applebloom manages to lift her face from your chest and wipe her tears
  842. 842.
    "You think so?"
  843. 843.
    >You hug the filly tight and rub noses
  844. 844.
"I know it, when has Twilight let us down"
  845. 845.
    >Applebloom fantasizes bucking the humans clear across the room as a cautiously optimistic smile spreads across her face
  846. 846.
"Don't get ahead of yourself little filly, we don't know when Princess Twilight is coming to save us so we have to behave till then, got it?"
  847. 847.
    >Her little smile vanishes
  848. 848.
"I have to be nice to them? They took me and locked me in a cage!"
  849. 849.
    >You hush the filly trying not to attract attention from the ranch hands as they finish up getting the ponies settled for the night
  850. 850.
"Yes Applebloom. You have to make sure the humans like you. If they think you're a well behaved little pony, they will let their guard down and when Twilight comes to rescue us, that's when we buck em as hard as we can"
  851. 851.
    >Applebloom can hardly contain her excitement as she holds you tight
  852. 852.
    >You feel some quilt feeling like you're doing Jeff's bidding by encouraging the filly to be compliant but you have to tell yourself it's in the filly's best interest.
  853. 853.
    >You dream of rescue however unlikely it may be but you can't let the filly lose hope
  854. 854.
    >Seeing Applebloom's smile beaming through the tears brings you joy you never thought possible on Jeff's ranch but you embrace it
  855. 855.
"Ok I'll behave, but not because im scared of them"
  856. 856.
    >Applebloom promises shaking your hoof
  857. 857.
    >You wipe the tears off her face and give her another hug before laying in the straw for some well deserved sleep
  858. 858.
    "Good filly, sleep tight Applebloom"
  859. 859.
    >Applebloom rolls on the straw curling up trying her best to stay warm
  860. 860.
    >She already misses her warm bed and more importantly her big sister to tuck her in
  861. 861.
"Don't we get to have a blanket atleast, maybe a pillow?"
  862. 862.
    >She cutely whines as you snuggle her nice and tight
  863. 863.
"You can whine to cowboy hat guy about your accomodations if you'd like. Till then i think im going to be the best you're gonna get"
  864. 864.
    >You reply with the filly whining more
  865. 865.
"I know, it's only for a few nights, i promise."
  866. 866.
    >Applebloom settles into the straw and accepts the discomfort.
  867. 867.
"It's not too different from sleeping in the barn I guess..."
  868. 868.
    >You can't help but smile proud of the filly for making the best of her situation
  869. 869.
    "That's the spirit Applebloom"
  870. 870.
    >As you both quietly settle in for the night the filly settles in closer to you
  871. 871.
    "Thank you Nonny"
  872. 872.
    >She quietly whispers as you drift off to sleep
  873. 873.

  874. 874.
    >The days drag by, one two three.
  875. 875.
    >Each day the anxiety builds
  876. 876.
    >Each day you have to answer for why Twilight hasn't come to save you
  877. 877.
    >Applebloom's nights become restless despite your best efforts
  878. 878.
    >Her training in particular humilates her as she's expected to be a classy fairy tale princess
  879. 879.
    >Jeff has taken extreme interest in the filly, while good for you has lead to you having to comfort the filly every night
  880. 880.
    >Getting a blanket though proved that Jeff wasn't entirely heartless despite his exploitation
  881. 881.
    >The coming days have proved stressful for you as well as your first booking is already planned later that week
  882. 882.
    >Far later than Jeff would have liked as he reminds you every day how much you cost him in court fees
  883. 883.
    >You haven't even heard a word from your parents either
  884. 884.
    >With Christmas fast approaching, you with you could hear something from them
  885. 885.
    >Getting settled for another night, you comfort Applebloom once more
  886. 886.
"It's so embarrassing, i feel like a clown. Why couldn't they have taken Rarity? She would love this. It's all sparkle dresses and smiles and waves. They're even making me speak all fancy like. I feel like some canterlot snob"
  887. 887.
    >You pull the ratty old blanket over the both of you and try to comfort her
  888. 888.
"I told you Applebloom, you just have to stick with it till Twilight saves us"
  889. 889.
    >Applebloom snaps back welling uo with tears and emotions
  890. 890.
"You've been saying that all week! Poor Applejack probably sets the table for me every night and doesn't even know im here"
  891. 891.
    >Your hope slowly faded with hers but as you see the sad defeated faces of the other ponies who have accepted servitude as their destiny, you know hooe is all you have left
  892. 892.
    >Yet you quietly acknowledge that if twilight knew you were here, you would have heard something by now
  893. 893.
"Applebloom, you have to trust Twilight and Applejack. You know it'd be retarded to come charging in here without a plan. They'd probably just end up captured like the rest of us."
  894. 894.
    >Applebloom lowers her head to the straw with shame
  895. 895.
"I guess you're right, but twilight is a powerful alicorn, can't she just stop the humans with magic?
  896. 896.
"Magic isn't as powerful here in the human world. The unicorns can barely lift a cake with their horn and pegasi can barely hover over the ground. Us earth ponies can't even break down a simple wooden door. I don't think even alicorns would have magic here."
  897. 897.
    >You explain as you hear some commotion outside from some ranch hands
  898. 898.
    >Ignoring the shouting thinking it's another fight you settle down Applebloom
  899. 899.
"You just have to trust Twilight will do what's right"
  900. 900.
    >You hear someone outside shouting to call 911 and you shoot up out of the straw
  901. 901.
    "What's happening? What's 911?"
  902. 902.
    >Applebloom yawns wanting to see what's going on outside
  903. 903.
    "Aw, i wanna see. Please?"
  904. 904.
    >Applebloom begs as you glance through the window
  905. 905.
    >The scene is only lit with phone lights
  906. 906.
    >You have a hard time making out what all the fuss is about
  907. 907.
    >The filly pounding at your legs demands your attention as you groan and concede
  908. 908.
"Alright, get on my back little filly"
  909. 909.
    >You sigh letting her up on your back
  910. 910.
"Alright! What are the humans doing!"
  911. 911.
    >You start peeking out the window somewhat jealous the filly has a better vantage than you
  912. 912.
"Don't get too excited Applebloom, the humans just like fighting each other sometimes, it doesn't make much sense"
  913. 913.
    >Applebloom gasps getting a good look at the bloody mess of a ranch hand yelling frantically
  914. 914.
    >You hear the terrified gasp as you finally get a glimpse of the battered human
  915. 915.
    "What, what is it..."
  916. 916.
    >The ranch hand groans and tells his story
  917. 917.
"Josue and i were patroling when we saw another pony, we tracked the pony waiting for an opportunity to ambush the pony and we were attacked. Every direction ponies everywhere! Unicorns, flying ones and...and this purple flying unicorn!"
  918. 918.
    >He yells as Applebloom trots on your back in excited disbelief
  919. 919.
"Nonny! It's twilight! I know it is!"
  920. 920.
    >You lower her back down and listen carefully
  921. 921.
"The flying unicorn shot powerful magic beams, they picked up josue and tossed him. I got hit with a magic beam. I barely managed to crawl back to the portal. Has anyone seen Josue?"
  922. 922.
    >Applebloom mimics ninja moves vividly imagining beating up the humans
  923. 923.
"Alright! Go Twilight! You hear that everypo-"
  924. 924.
    >You have to hush Applebloom before her excitement attracts attention
  925. 925.
    >The ranch hand desperately cries out as Jeff finally arrives on scene
  926. 926.
"What the hell is going on here!"
  927. 927.
    >Jeff asks as his eyes widen with disbelief at the sight of the badly beaten ranch hand
  928. 928.
"The flying unicorn, twilight. It's real! It's real"
  929. 929.
    >The ranch hand yells before getting slapped across his bloody face
  930. 930.
"Shut up dumbass, the fucking ponies can hear you. When the ambulance gets here, you aint gonna mention a fucking lick about the portal, twilight, none of that shit. Keep that mouth shut or I'll put you down like a fucking dog"
  931. 931.
    >The ranch hand cries as he quiets his voice
  932. 932.
    "What about Josue?"
  933. 933.
    "What about him?"
  934. 934.
    >Jeff callously growls as he grapples with the realization that his money printer has been compromised
  935. 935.
    >Jeff realizes the panic in his ranks and pats his ranch hand on the shoulder
  936. 936.
    >He stands to face the growing crowd
  937. 937.
    >He doesn't know what happened to Josue but being he is on all their minds, it becomes a perfect opportunity
  938. 938.
"Gather up! We've been on easy street long enough. Do you think those fat paychecks have been for nothin? I knew this day would come and the ponies have gotten wise to our game. They lured Josue and Miguel deep into the forest and attacked."
  939. 939.
    >He lets his words sink in
  940. 940.
"If any of you thought we would continue like we were year after year then you're a fool. If you're trembling in your boots at the thought of some ponies fighting back then get the hell out of here. We knew this day was coming
  941. 941.
    >He whistles and has a team lead run to the shed
  942. 942.
"These ponies forgot one little thing, the indomitable human spirit lives in all of us, they think a show of force will keep us down?! No! We will bring a wrath they aint never seen before
  943. 943.
    >His team lead returns slamming down crates filled with non lethal weapons and long range tranquilizer rifles
  944. 944.
"They will rue the day they messed with one of our own, i will have their entire pony civilization bowing to me!"
  945. 945.
    >The men start to cheer collecting the weapons from the stashe
  946. 946.
"Not even their precious princess twilight will stop us! 200,000 dollars to the man you can bring the purple flying unicorn to it's knees"
  947. 947.
    >The men start cheering throwing fists into the air ready to claim their prize
  948. 948.
"It will be a glorious day for us all gentlemen. Riches beyond your hearts desire. Paychecks fat enough to satisfy every want or need. We will succeed. We will triumph, we will conquer! NO PONY WILL STAND IN OUR WAY!"
  949. 949.
    >The ranch hands start breaking into resounding cheers as you tremble in your hooves
  950. 950.
    >You see the weapons and know what humanity is capable of but as you sit in your inescapable stall, there's nothing you can do to warn them
  951. 951.
    >Even as the ambulance arrives and the energy dies down you quiver in fear worrying Applebloom
  952. 952.
"Nonny, you were a human once...right? They don't have magic, how are they supposed to beat Twilight?"
  953. 953.
    >You struggle to answer wanting nothing more than to leave this nightmare behind but as the humans gear up for war, you don't know if you'll ever escape
  954. 954.
    >Jeff takes a quiet walk up the trail to the portal
  955. 955.
    >It's been so long since he has seen it
  956. 956.
    >The last time he saw the portal it nearly drove him to madness
  957. 957.
    >He's desperate to know if he can resist it like he has before
  958. 958.
    >The cold mountain air bites at his face as he finally faces the portal once more
  959. 959.
    >Piles of mysterious rocks with incomprehensible letters carved into them stand high above him
  960. 960.
    >He stops short of the portal hearing its temptations whisper in his ear
  961. 961.
    >The other ranch hands can't hear the words much less understand them
  962. 962.
    >Jeff understands the ancient ponish as if it were his native tongue
  963. 963.
    >The words stoke his heart with immeasurable greed
  964. 964.
    >Visions of ponies and humans alike grovelling before him make him swell with pride
  965. 965.
    >He feels the magic coursing through his body
  966. 966.
    >Every nerve tingles with delight
  967. 967.
"These ponies are mine every last one and it all starts with you Twilight Sparkle
  968. 968.
    >He growls taking steps towards the portal
  969. 969.
    >The words become all consuming
  970. 970.
"The world will be mine, my men will want for nothing. The fate of every pony will rest in my hands"
  971. 971.
    >Jeff smiles reaching for the portal before a ranch hand stops him in his tacks
  972. 972.
"Hey Jeff. You made an amazing speech. Some of the guys just wanted to know: are you going to cross the portal with us?"
  973. 973.
    >Jeff feels the words of the portal fade as he comes back to his senses
  974. 974.
"What? No, no, i have alot kf business to attend to here at the ranch, besides. It wouldn't be fair for me to bag that uh flying unicorn for you guys"
  975. 975.
    >Jeff casually explains somewhat terrified by the portals temptation
  976. 976.
    >He turns from it feeling withdraw, powerlessness and dread outside of its presence
  977. 977.
    >Joining his ranch hand he decides to leave the portal
  978. 978.
"I do wish you boys the best just remember to save your darts and don't be afraid to call for help"
  979. 979.
    >Jeff weighs his concerns now that he is away from the portal's temptations clouding his mind
  980. 980.
    >What if Twilight is as powerful as the ponies say she is
  981. 981.
    >What if my men fail?
  982. 982.
    >No! They won't fail. Twilight Sparkle will be mine.
  983. 983.
    >Jeff shakes his mind free of the doubt the portal cast upon him
  984. 984.
    >I don't need to cross the portal, I won't surrender myself to it!
  985. 985.
    >He mumbles to himself clenching his teeth in anger
  986. 986.
    "What was that boss?"
  987. 987.
    >Johnny asks abruptly drawing Jeff back to reality
  988. 988.
    "Huh, what are talking about?"
  989. 989.
    >Jeff asks lost in thought
  990. 990.
"Something about I won't surrender to it?"
  991. 991.
    >Johnny delicately asks not wanting to upset his clearly stressed boss
  992. 992.
"Oh, it's nothing, im getting all worked up about nothing is all. It's just im counting on all of you to bring down the flying unicorn. Our whole operation depends on keeping new ponies coming through that portal. If we're ever going to expand this operation we need hundreds, maybe thousands more ponies coming through that portal to meet demand. We cannot afford to lose Johnny, bringing in that princess could mean the difference between keeping the lights on and never having to think about money again. Keep that in mind when you walk through that portal tomorrow".
  993. 993.
    >Jeff explains trembling from the visions of riches beyond compare
  994. 994.
    >His eyes water as the shadowy figure of an alicorn vaporizes it all before him
  995. 995.
    >Despite the cilly air, a bead of sweat escapes from the brim of his hat
  996. 996.
    >Johnny notices and tries to help
  997. 997.
"Woah, are you alright boss? Coming down with something?"
  998. 998.
    >Jeff shakes the thoughts from his mind again stumbling on a tree root
  999. 999.
"Yea, yea, im fine. I think i just need some rest."
  1000. 1000.
    >Jeff explains with unusual calm
  1001. 1001.
    >Johnny helps his boss back to his feet and back to his house
  1002. 1002.
"Come on now, it's not too far. You work to much boss, you need to get some shut eye"
  1003. 1003.
    >Johnny jovially explains as they continue down the cold dark trail back to the ranch
  1004. 1004.
    >You sit quietly in your stall your hooves tapping nervously on the concrete
  1005. 1005.
    >Everypony's planned booking was cancelled in preparation for the big day
  1006. 1006.
    >You gaze out the window
  1007. 1007.
    >Dozens of humans armed to the teeth cheering and chatting amongst themselves
  1008. 1008.
    >You'd think it was a block party if they weren't prepared for war
  1009. 1009.
    >Applebloom hasn't eaten
  1010. 1010.
    >The dread fills everypony's hearts
  1011. 1011.
    >No appetite
  1012. 1012.
"You think Twilight will win nonny?"
  1013. 1013.
    >The question grips your heart as you struggle to breathe
  1014. 1014.
"Please, nonny, you're the only human we know, do you think Twilight has a chance?"
  1015. 1015.
    >Applebloom begs more afraid of the silence than an honest answer
  1016. 1016.
    "I don't know Applebloom...i don't know"
  1017. 1017.
    >You forcefully reply through choked up tears
  1018. 1018.
    >Applebloom sits dejected as Jeff's voice roars over the crowd
  1019. 1019.
    >Jeff's presence brings all the muttering voices to a calm
  1020. 1020.
    >Every ranch hand stands at attention
  1021. 1021.
    >Jeff raises his hat
  1022. 1022.
"Today is a big day for us all! For too long we operated in the shadows of this pony world. Taking one or two here and there like dirty scavengers. Today is the day that all changes. We have found their princess, their leader. The opportunity is here for us to rise. We shall no longer continue as meager scavangers. After today we will reign as conquerers! Every pony will bow to us once they see their dear princess under our heels. Imagine the pride in all of us storming the castle and roaming their land with impunity. I know all of you have the will, the strength to make our dreams a reality! So march on to the portal! Claim your prize! 10 grand for every head, 200 grand for the flying unicorn!
  1023. 1023.
    >Resounding cheers echo through the air as the boots trample the ground below them
  1024. 1024.
    >The speech sends shivers down your spine
  1025. 1025.
    >You wished more than anything to see your friends again, but not like this
  1026. 1026.
    >Applejack paces back and forth at the Basecamp
  1027. 1027.
    >Her eyes struggle to stay open as she hasn't slept since Applebloom has gone missing
  1028. 1028.
    >She blames herself for letting Applebloom go to Zecora's
  1029. 1029.
    >The guards spend half their time stopping Applejack from storming the portal and the other making sure the humans don't come through
  1030. 1030.
    >The Pegasi Royal guard stand ready with spears pointed at the portal
  1031. 1031.
    >Twilight and Shining Armor meet to discuss new revelations with the portal
  1032. 1032.
    >Applejack rushes up to Twilight and Shining desperate for answers
  1033. 1033.
"Twilight! What did you find out? Please tell me there's some good news! What are the creatures that came out of it AND WHAT DID THEY DO WITH APPLEBLOOM!?
  1034. 1034.
    >Applejack cries desperate for any hope at all
  1035. 1035.
"Don't worry Applejack, we atleast know Applebloom is safe. We asked the one human Josue and he said he works on a ranch that has been keeping Ponies as pets"
  1036. 1036.
    >Before Twilight can finish Applejack throws her hat to the ground in a fit of rage
  1037. 1037.
"They're keeping her as a pet!"
  1038. 1038.
    >Applejack takes a breath and just appreciates the fact that Applebloom is safe, atleast for now
  1039. 1039.
    >She imagines getting a minute alone with the human that took Applebloom
  1040. 1040.
"They're gonna look mighty silly eating corn on the cob with no teeth! Poor little filly, she's probably worried sick"
  1041. 1041.
    >Applejack cries throwing her hooves around Twilight
  1042. 1042.
    >Shining Armor comforts Applejack with his hoof
  1043. 1043.
"Don't worry Applejack, we're planning an expedition past the portal. Based on what the human has told us, the ranch is poorly guarded at night and should be easy to perform a rescue mission."
  1044. 1044.
    >Shining Armor explains showing Applejack a rough map of the ranch
  1045. 1045.
    >Applejack starts to feel some hope as she yawns and rubs her eyes
  1046. 1046.
"Please let me go with you, i want to be there when you meet Applebloom"
  1047. 1047.
    >Twilight gives an uncomfortable smile
  1048. 1048.
"That might not be a great idea."
  1049. 1049.
    >Applejack can barely keep herself from falling over as she picks up her hat
  1050. 1050.
"What are you talking about? Im *yawn* perfectly fine"
  1051. 1051.
    >Twilight has to think for a moment in confusion before realizing what Applejack meant
  1052. 1052.
"Oh, no im talking about the portal, it's not some ordinary portal. The portal is pre equestrian and the only mention of it is a footnote in Starswirls journal. I started translating the old ponish runes on the stones. It did give me a lead. The portal was built by an ancient centaur who lead a war against the 3 tribes"
  1053. 1053.
    >Applejack pipes up frustrated with the lack of urgency
  1054. 1054.
"What does all this have to do with going to get Applebloom!"
  1055. 1055.
    >Twilight blushes realizing this isn't a history lesson
  1056. 1056.
"Right, sorry. The tribes joined together and defeated this centaur. They managed to defeat him and trap him in the portal and end his enslavement of pony kind. My fear is that any one of us entering the portal could release him once more on equestria but we don't know for certain"
  1057. 1057.
    >Applejack yawns nodding off despite the daylight overhead
  1058. 1058.
"Don't be ridiculous Twilight! How many ponies have these humans pulled through with nothing bad happening? We have to...to"
  1059. 1059.
    >Twilight catches Applejack before she falls to the snowy ground finally passes out from exhaustion
  1060. 1060.
    >She deeply considers Applejack's concern and wants to consult fellow researchers but as even the restless AJ finally gives in to fatigue, it's clear that they've been too cautious
  1061. 1061.
    >Precious days have been wasted milling about and studying the ruins
  1062. 1062.
"Maybe you're right Twilly, we don't know what this portal is capable of, it's a wise choice to-"
  1063. 1063.
    >Twilight interrupts her brother feeling some guilt especially as Applejack has spent day and night wanting to go through the portal
  1064. 1064.
"No, Applejack is right, we've been too cautious. We should have acted sooner. We would have had an element of surprise but now they know we're waiting here for them"
  1065. 1065.
    >Shining quickly rebuts trying to reassure his little sister of her choices as a leader
  1066. 1066.
"If we went in immediately, we would have been at a disadvantage. We knew nothing on the other side of the portal but since we captured that human we know alot more about what's happening on the other side. We found out that this is a much larger operation than we thought and ponies that have been missing for years are over there. It's not a simple rescue mission and i have more units of the royal guard coming down to lend a hoof. You made the right choice to keep everypony safe Twilight. Don't be so hard on yourself"
  1067. 1067.
    >The guilt still consumes Twilight as she leaks a single tear hugging Applejack tightly
  1068. 1068.
"Thanks big brother, i needed to hear that,"
  1069. 1069.
    >Shining beams with pride happy to see a relieved smile spread across Twilight's face
  1070. 1070.
"Once the rest of the royal guard get here we will be able to mount a large enough raid on the ranch to rescue everypony and you'll see it was the smart choice to wait"
  1071. 1071.
    >With a glow of his horn he brings AJ into the tent to finally get her some rest
  1072. 1072.
    >The portal glows a cold ominous blue hue
  1073. 1073.
    >The guards ready their spears
  1074. 1074.
    >They go from quietly muttering how they would rather be at home spending the hearth's warming season with family to sitting behind the bulwarks ready for anything that will come their way.
  1075. 1075.
    >Though there are only 6 royal guard, they do not fear any human coming through
  1076. 1076.
    "Captain! The portal is opening!"
  1077. 1077.
    >Twilight spreads her wings
  1078. 1078.
    >She knows her magic will be essential against whatever may come through that portal
  1079. 1079.
    >Shining rushes to the forefront taking his position at the bulwarks
  1080. 1080.
"Remember, the humans don't have magic. They have to get close to you to hurt you. Do not attack till i give the order!"
  1081. 1081.
    >Shining commands as the blue glow of the portal pulses.
  1082. 1082.
    >The tensions rise as the guards clench their teeth
  1083. 1083.
    >The only sounds in that forest are the quiet hum of the portal, the hearts pounding out of the guard's chests, and Applejack's snores
  1084. 1084.
    >The first humans cross through
  1085. 1085.
    >They're startled by the sight of the large Royal guard ponies and their gleaming gold armor
  1086. 1086.
    >There's some hesitation but as more excited humans shove their way through, it's clear that the Guards are severely out numbered
  1087. 1087.
    >Shining Armor takes a stand on the bulwarks
  1088. 1088.
"Humans! We have the portal surrounded! Surrender yourselves peacefully and release the ponies you have imprisoned"
  1089. 1089.
    >The humans scan the area raising their weapons
  1090. 1090.
"If you comply peacefully, we will release-"
  1091. 1091.
    >A shot rings out, a bean bag slams into shining's chest knocking him off the bulwarks
  1092. 1092.
    >Panic spreads through the guards ranks
  1093. 1093.
    >The humans charge with unrelenting force overwhelming the guard force around the portal
  1094. 1094.
    "SHINING ARMOR!"
  1095. 1095.
    >Twilight screams taking flight
  1096. 1096.
    >Shining can see the humans already charging the bulwarks as he struggles to his hooves wincing.
  1097. 1097.
    >Seeing the guards already being overwhelmed he swallows his pride for the best of his unit
  1098. 1098.
"Everypony, retreat! There are too many!"
  1099. 1099.
    >He yells out in despair as half his unit is already being dragged back through the portal
  1100. 1100.
    >A human rounds the bulwark as he unleashes a powerful blast from his horn
  1101. 1101.
    >Throwing the human clear across the snow
  1102. 1102.
    >Just as he finds himself overwhelmed by another 3 humans Twilight swoops in with a protective shield
  1103. 1103.
"Twilly! You need to get out of here!"
  1104. 1104.
    >Shining yells blasting several more humans as tranquilizer darts bounce off his armor
  1105. 1105.
"It's the flying unicorn! Take it out!"
  1106. 1106.
    >Twilight flinches with fear as barges of beanbags and darts hit her magic shield
  1107. 1107.
"They're after me! I'll keep them distracted! Take Applejack and get the others! I can hold them off!"
  1108. 1108.
    >Shining Armor wants nothing more than to protect his sister but with his unit overwhelmed and the fate of Ponyville resting squarely in his hooves, he has no time to hesitate
  1109. 1109.
"You can count on me Twilight, Just promise me you'll be safe!"
  1110. 1110.
    >Shining Armor reluctantly confirms blasting several more humans before retreating as fast as his hooves can carry him
  1111. 1111.
    >With her brother and Applejack on their way to warn ponyville, Twilight takes flight once more to escape
  1112. 1112.
    "Princess Twilight! Help us!"
  1113. 1113.
    >The last two guards valiantly fight on resisting the few humans that aren't enamored with catching the flying unicorn
  1114. 1114.
    >Against her better judgement she turns back
  1115. 1115.
    >We are going to need every hoof we can to fight back she tells herself
  1116. 1116.
    >Swooping down with speed she tosses the humans opening a path to retreat
  1117. 1117.
    >Circling back around she lands and raises a shield to protect them
  1118. 1118.
"Retreat back to ponyville! Shining Armor will be there, that's an order!"
  1119. 1119.
    >As the Pegasi guards take flight twilight drops her shield to turn and join them
  1120. 1120.
    >As he wings flap she feels a sharp sting on her flank
  1121. 1121.
    >Twilight gasps with panic as she swats the dart off her flank but it's already too late
  1122. 1122.
    >Twilight's wings can hardly flap with coordination
  1123. 1123.
    >Fatigue starts to overwhelm her body as she drifts off course
  1124. 1124.
    >Her vision blurs as she falls through a tree tumbling across the snowy ground
  1125. 1125.
    >She desperately staggers to her hooves hoping she atleast got far enough away from the humans
  1126. 1126.
    >As her hooves stumble across the snow she can't help but quake in fear hearing the cheers from the humans in the distance
  1127. 1127.
    >What are these monsters! She thinks to herself as she hears the cheers getting closer
  1128. 1128.
    >She tries bringing together what little consciousness she has left to teleport back to ponyville
  1129. 1129.
    >Anything to get some distance between her and the humans
  1130. 1130.
    >With a poof she still finds herself deep in the Everfree Forest, far away from where she wanted to be in the castle
  1131. 1131.
    >With the cheers nearly on top of her she tries getting to her hoves once more as she's thrown to the snowy ground by a human
  1132. 1132.
"We got her!!! We got their princess!"
  1133. 1133.
    >One of the ranch hands cheers making quick work of binding her wings
  1134. 1134.
    "She's over here!"
  1135. 1135.
    >The ranch hand calls out as more humans trudge through the snow
  1136. 1136.
    >Twilight groans with despair trying to throw the human off of her but she's barely strong enough to get to her hooves much less fight
  1137. 1137.
    "Why are you doing this!"
  1138. 1138.
    >Twilight weakly cries as a bridle is strapped to her muzzle
  1139. 1139.
    >As the rest of the humans pile onto her, she fades from consciousness listening to the humans plan on getting her all the way back to the portal
  1140. 1140.
"We night need to bring over the ATV and a sled, it'll take all day to drag this one all the way back to the portal"
  1141. 1141.
    >She hears before drifting to sleep
  1142. 1142.
    >You and Applebloom sit in the stall
  1143. 1143.
    >Seeing dozens of ponies rounded up and brought through the portal including the elite royal guard crushes your already weak spirits
  1144. 1144.
    >You don't dare tell Applebloom but the perceptive young filly can see it in your face
  1145. 1145.
    "The humans won, didn't they?"
  1146. 1146.
    >Applebloom tearfully asks wondering how long you can keep your silence
  1147. 1147.
    >Much to her surprise you open your mouth
  1148. 1148.
"It looks like it, they even captured some royal guards"
  1149. 1149.
    >You answer with a depressive monotone not wanting to imagine how terrified the ponies must be
  1150. 1150.
    >You gaze out the window as, one by one, ponies are either dragged down the trail
  1151. 1151.
    >Few "cooperative" ponies are lead down the trail
  1152. 1152.
    >For the sake of sorting, they had to resort to ear tags like cattle
  1153. 1153.
    >Jeff lords over his new additions as they tag if the pony was a mare or stallion and who was claiming the bounty on said pony
  1154. 1154.
    >The cries of despair from ponies mixed with the cheers of humans makes for a somber mood in the stables
  1155. 1155.
"It's just not fair, twilight should have kicked their butts by now. The humans don't know what they're in for"
  1156. 1156.
    >You have some hope however, seeing members of the royal guard captured, the elite guards of all of equestria, doesn't inspire confidence
  1157. 1157.
    >You sigh with despair as you watch one of the guards beg the humans, with tears streaming down his face, to be released
  1158. 1158.
"I don't know Applebloom, we'll have to find out when-"
  1159. 1159.
    >Your heart freezes, your breathing stops
  1160. 1160.
    >The humans cheer with resounding joy as you see her
  1161. 1161.
    >Her purple coat and mane, the delicate wings, and horn
  1162. 1162.
    "It's Twilight"
  1163. 1163.
    >You mistakenly utter as the packed stable stirs to life with murmurs
  1164. 1164.
    >Applebloom lowers her head
  1165. 1165.
"They got Twilight? B-but how, she's a princess. She has the strongest magic in all of Ponyville, maybe in all of equestria"
  1166. 1166.
    >The sheer might of these humans despite having no magic, frightens Applebloom to her core
  1167. 1167.
    >The sled with the sleeping twilight is brought before Jeff
  1168. 1168.
    >Hes eyes grow wide with delight as he takes the tagging tool
  1169. 1169.
"Well, if it isn't Twilight Sparkle, princess of the ponies"
  1170. 1170.
    >With a firm clamping on her ear, Twilight is tagged and marked
  1171. 1171.
    >The sharp pain on her ear wakes her
  1172. 1172.
    >She grumbles as the sedatives wear off and she tries to move realizing she's completely bound
  1173. 1173.
"Struggle all you want sweetheart, you aint gonna get away, and don't you think your magic will save you neither. Magic don't work so well here in our world princess"
  1174. 1174.
    >Jeff explains with a quiet chuckle from the ranch hands gathered around
  1175. 1175.
    >Jeff writes the names of the guys claiming twilight's bounty
  1176. 1176.
    >Twilight eases out of the sedative induced brain fog as she finally meets eyes with Jeff
  1177. 1177.
    >She notices a peculiar aura around him, something clouding his judgement.
  1178. 1178.
    >His eyes darkened like they've been consumed from within
  1179. 1179.
"Men, it is a proud day! The ponies are in retreat. I've received word that we have captured several small settlements and cottages surrounding the forest. AS WE SPEAK, we have about 25 more ponies on their way to the portal."
  1180. 1180.
    >With another round of cheers, Jeff finds some time for a joke
  1181. 1181.
"Yall are gonna bankrupt me at this rate. Slow down there fellas. Our stables are going to be packed! The big prize awaits though, their main town, Ponyville is scrambling to put together a futile defense, but it'll be no use. Their elite Royal Guard was defeated in seconds and shattered, retreating into the woods like the docile cattle they are. WE WILL MARCH ON PONYVILLE! Gems, gold, and treasure all lie in wait for you to take it."
  1182. 1182.
    >His eyes tear imagining the hoardes of pony gold waiting for him. A pony enterprise for him in the human world
  1183. 1183.
"Tonight under the cover of darkness, we will raid their Town, capture every pony that dares fight back and have the rest squarely under our heels as god intended!"
  1184. 1184.
    >Cheers and hats fly as the men excitedly rush to refill on darts, bean bags and other munitions
  1185. 1185.
    >As Jeff steps down from the stump he lovingly strokes twilight's mane
  1186. 1186.
"What will it be princess, the easy way, or the hard way. Im looking for things to go easy here, if you can just convince your ponies to surrender to us, then i may be willing to make some concessions for your comfort".
  1187. 1187.
    >Jeff smiles as Twilight groans trying to move her body
  1188. 1188.
    >Twilight looks to him in defiance before she finally connects the dots in her head
  1189. 1189.
"You must be the one the one the portal speaks to..."
  1190. 1190.
    >Jeff's smug expression evaporates instantly
  1191. 1191.
    >Every other thought fades from consciousness
  1192. 1192.
    >What does she know?
  1193. 1193.
    >Twilight can see the stunned expression in Jeff's face
  1194. 1194.
    >She realizes the runes on the portal were not mere decorations but a prophecy unfolding before her very eyes
  1195. 1195.
    >Twilight squirms with discomfort trying to break free of her bindings
  1196. 1196.
    >Before she can beg Jeff to listen a hand holds her mouth shut
  1197. 1197.
    >She gives a terrified whine as Jeff leans in
  1198. 1198.
    >She struggles fearing Jeff may try to kill her for her knowledge.
  1199. 1199.
    >It's entirely doubtful that any human can understand the old ponish runes especially when so few ponies can
  1200. 1200.
    >With Twilight gone, nobody will know how much danger their worlds will be in
  1201. 1201.
    >She quietly accepts her cruel fate being snuffed out by a human entirely corrupted by greed
  1202. 1202.
"What do you know about the portal?"
  1203. 1203.
    >Jeff calmly asks taking his hand away from Twilight's mouth
  1204. 1204.
"You said i am the one the portal speaks to, what does that mean?"
  1205. 1205.
    >He further asks curious to know what this powerful magic pony knows
  1206. 1206.
    >Twilight takes a moment to breathe trying to find a way to explain it to where the human will understand
  1207. 1207.
"There's alot to explain, i could tell you everything i know"
  1208. 1208.
    >Jeff weighs his options
  1209. 1209.
    >Could this all be some ploy to trick him?
  1210. 1210.
    >Could she be planning an escape or worse, a revolt
  1211. 1211.
    >He doesn't trust the unicorn but if she knows something about the mysterious portal then it's worth giving her the benefit of the doubt
  1212. 1212.
"Let's discuss it. In private. As a token of good faith, im going to untie you. Do I have your word that you will not try to escape?"
  1213. 1213.
    >Jeff asks giving the pony a death stare
  1214. 1214.
    >Twilight is disgusted by the offer
  1215. 1215.
    >In a situation like this she is bound by duty to escape at any cost but this conversation could hold the fate of Equestria in the balance
  1216. 1216.
    >She struggles with her decision as Jeff further adds salt to the wound
  1217. 1217.
"You're a princess. I can imagine you are honor bound by your word right?"
  1218. 1218.
    >For the good of Equestria, Twilight tells herself
  1219. 1219.
"You have my word, if you untie me, i will not attempt to escape"
  1220. 1220.
    >Twilight struggles to say as her body slowly comes free
  1221. 1221.
    >The ranch hands gasp in fear as Twilight stretches her wings
  1222. 1222.
    >She gazes around in fear as the humans fearfully point their dart rifles at her, waiting for amy sudden moves
  1223. 1223.
"Put your guns down, she promised not to do anything stupid! Come with me princess, my house is the big building across from the stables"
  1224. 1224.
    >Twilight diligently follows the human hopeful she can help guide him to the right decision.
  1225. 1225.
    >Jeff's heart pounds with adrenaline fearing what the pony might say.
  1226. 1226.
    >He has feared the portal himself and even found himself almost entirely at its mercy like his very own ring of power
  1227. 1227.
    >He wants to understand the nature of what it is he is dealing with and why it chose him
  1228. 1228.
    >Even if that means treating a pony with respect
  1229. 1229.
    >The pair get settled by the fireplace as Jeff does the unthinkable and allows a pony to sit in one of his armchairs
  1230. 1230.
    >Jeff attempts his best to make Twilight feel comfortable however his limited resources make things difficult.
  1231. 1231.
"I know you said you like tea, best i can do is iced tea, figured you wouldn't appreciate black coffee like i do"
  1232. 1232.
    >Twilight, despite her magic being significantly weaker in the human world still manages to lift the cup to her lips and take a sip
  1233. 1233.
"It's very pleasant, could use some sugar though"
  1234. 1234.
    >Jeff scoffs returning to the kitchen for some snacks
  1235. 1235.
"Defeating stereotypes i see, ponies love their sugar cubes"
  1236. 1236.
    >Jeff returns with a small plate kf carrots, celery, strawberries and all manner of treats friendly to the pony diet
  1237. 1237.
    >Twilight happily takes some celery before getting ready to explain
  1238. 1238.
    >Despite all the pleasantries, she does have to get to the critical point of order
  1239. 1239.
"I suppose i should ask what you know about the portal first, maybe some of your knowledge may fill in the gaps i have so i can have a more clear understanding of what's happening".
  1240. 1240.
    >Jeff isn't amused by the opening of the conversation
  1241. 1241.
    >Does she know nothing about the portal?
  1242. 1242.
    >Is she trying to bullshit her way out of this?
  1243. 1243.
"You first. You offered to tell me everything"
  1244. 1244.
    >Twilight scowls with disapproval, however she did say she would be the one doing the explaining
  1245. 1245.
"Well, that was what i promised afterall. Just promise to answe my questions if i have any"
  1246. 1246.
    >Twilight carefully answers taking a sip of her iced tea
  1247. 1247.
"I'll answer your questions once i get some answers of my own. First things' first. Why the portal "talk" to me and only me?"
  1248. 1248.
    >Jeff asks desperate to get an answer to a question that has haunted him since he first set eyes on the portal many years ago
  1249. 1249.
    >Twilight takes a breath and tries to soothe the hostility before it escalates any further
  1250. 1250.
"Its a long story so you will have to bear with me. Over a thousand years ago, before the pony tribes came together, there was an evil centaur named King Mahrek. He used his magic to enslave the ponies of our world. The literature on how he accomplished this is sparse, only mentioning some form of collective manipulation rather than mind control. His power grew and he spread his influence across the land. When he could not satisfy his greed with our world, he created a portal so that he may leave our world and enslave everycreature across all dimensions. He was only stopped when the alicorns came together to bring an end to his tyranny"
  1251. 1251.
    >Jeff interrupts his dull history lesson as he quickly runs out of coffee sipping out of boredom
  1252. 1252.
"Princess, can you please get to the part that matters and answer my question?"
  1253. 1253.
    >Twilight groans with annoyance at the second time she has been interrupted trying to explain the portal
  1254. 1254.
"I'll answer your question as soon as i get finished explaining how the portal came to be. I know if i explained the voice in the portal then you'd want to know who the voice is and then you'd want to know where they came from so i figured it'd be best to start there"
  1255. 1255.
    >She awkwardly explains with her horn glowing to take a few strawberries
  1256. 1256.
    >Jeff groans and extracts himself from his chair to get another cup of coffee
  1257. 1257.
    "Carry on princess..."
  1258. 1258.
    >He concedes as his boots trudge on the hardwood
  1259. 1259.
"As i was saying, when the alicorns trapped him in the portal. A prophecy outlining his return was etched into the portal and i was able to read it-"
  1260. 1260.
    >Jeff's hurried footsteps rush back into the room
  1261. 1261.
"The words on the portal, you can read them?"
  1262. 1262.
    >Twilight blushes trying to suppress her pride
  1263. 1263.
"Its an ancient ponish script that hasn't been used in centuries."
  1264. 1264.
    >Jeff smiles as he finally realizes why none of the ponies could read the letters he showed them
  1265. 1265.
"But, YOU can read it right?"
  1266. 1266.
    >Twilight is almost terrified of the prospect of translating the ancient ponish runes for him.
  1267. 1267.
    >The runes spoke of the subjugation of all, a new era under one ruler and other apocalyptic predictions
  1268. 1268.
    >This would be enough to persuade everypony to leave the portal be however she fears these words of caution may entice a human
  1269. 1269.
"Yes, i can read the text and understand it. Im a scholar of Star Swirl the Bearded's work and often he would write in this ancient script, so i took it upon myself to study it."
  1270. 1270.
    >Jeff gets comfortable in his chair excited to take her to the portal and have her translate the text sprawled all across the stones
  1271. 1271.
"Please, continue, you were saying something about a prophecy"
  1272. 1272.
    >Twilight hesitates to recite the prophecy fearing it may convince the human, who has somehow resisted the temptations of Mahrek, to surrender to the portal
  1273. 1273.
    >She can see the excitement in the humans eyes, almost as though he wants to know his destiny
  1274. 1274.
    >With the clock ticking and Jeff's second cup of coffee running out, his patience wears thin
  1275. 1275.
    >One minute she wouldn't shut up and now I can't get a word out of her
  1276. 1276.
    >With his cup empty, Jeff loudly slams his cup on the table
  1277. 1277.
    >His stare unnerves Twilight till she struggles to remember what the runes even said
  1278. 1278.
    >With the pressure mounting, Twilight caves hoping the human doesn't get the wrong message from the prophecy
  1279. 1279.
"The prophecy read: It will be on a land united and prosperous, a ponykind free and fair shall be beset by the harbingers of my return for i will speak. Creatures that know not of morality but of hedonism. The one they call their king shall be of a corrupted soul cold as the stone which bears this prophecy. Once this king has no desire for their own world, the world of pony lands shall know disharmony, misery, ponykind shall know servitude, and corruption."
  1280. 1280.
    >Twilight sighs with fear carefully gauging Jeff's reaction
  1281. 1281.
"That's the prophecy? That's what you were so afraid to tell me? Here i was thinking it was me but here it is saying that your guy has no desire for their own world. I'll tell you right now, i have no interest in anything on that side of the portal. Except ponies obviously but you're a means to an end in my world"
  1282. 1282.
    >Jeff explains feeling somewhat bitter that the prophecy isn't about him
  1283. 1283.
"All that waiting for you to get to the damn point and you go and tell me i have nothing to do with it?"
  1284. 1284.
    >Twilight can hardly believe her ears as the human, who has systematically captured and enslaved ponies, deny his roll to play in the prophecy
  1285. 1285.
    >Twilight pipes up putting an end to her friendly demeanor
  1286. 1286.
"I don't get it, what is there to explain, the portal clearly chose you to be the one that brings Mahrek back. The prophecy is clearly spelt out and you deny the danger?"
  1287. 1287.
    >Jeff rolls his eyes
  1288. 1288.
"Riddle me this Purple, why would i be the one. That prophecy says: 'once this king has no desire for their own world' shit will start to happen. If you hadn't noticed, i already have everything i could ever want right here in the human world. Hell, come to think of it, i can hardly think of anything I'd want in your world aside from ponies. Speaking of..."
  1289. 1289.
    >Taking a glance out the window to the herd of new ponies gather, Jeff gives Twilight a smug smile and a wink.
  1290. 1290.
"I think i have more ponies than I'd ever know what to do with. Hell, at this rate i might have to start franchises, I'll have more money than you can possibly imagine, I'll have mansions that will make your castles look like rock piles. You're telling me, that i will have no desires for my own world? Stupid little mare, to think they call you princess."
  1291. 1291.
    >Jeff adds pouring Twilight another pour of iced tea
  1292. 1292.
"Now, if that's all you have to say about the matter then i reckon-"
  1293. 1293.
"What does the portal tell you!"
  1294. 1294.
    >Jeff is stunned as Twilight bursts out with her wings stretched
  1295. 1295.
"You promised to answer my questions if I answered yours. Just as i will keep my word, you will keep yours!"
  1296. 1296.
    >Jeff, despite looking down on the ponies, does have a shred of honor and holds himself to account
  1297. 1297.
"My apologies princess, as i am also a man of my word, i will answer your questions. Carry on"
  1298. 1298.
    >Twilight settles back into the chair with a brief apology for making a scene
  1299. 1299.
"I feel i need to understand what exactly the portal is trying to tell you. If i know what these temptations are then i may better understand the nature of the portal and how Mahrek is attempting to use you"
  1300. 1300.
    >Jeff quietly considers how important it is to tell Twilight what he sees. Whenever he's in the portals presence, vivid visions cloud his thoughts. Many centered around his own ruin with only the portal as his salvation.
  1301. 1301.
    >What could she do with this information?
  1302. 1302.
    >If that portal gives the person it speaks to power, why wouldn't i take it.
  1303. 1303.
    >he could be lying about the prophecy
  1304. 1304.
    >The conflicting theories make his heart race as his breathing becomes heavy
  1305. 1305.
    >Considering his knowledge of the nature of the portal is limited to his horrific visions, Jeff carefully feeds the knowledge
  1306. 1306.
"I get visions, usually of horrible things come to pass"
  1307. 1307.
    >Jeff carefully explains putting his limited trust in Twilight
  1308. 1308.
    >Twilight leans in with eager anticipation, she will finally understand what Jeff sees amd what the portal is trying to manipulate him with
  1309. 1309.
    >Jeff physically trembles remembering the devastation from one particular vision
  1310. 1310.
    >With a trembling sigh he finally speaks up
  1311. 1311.
"One vision that has been haunting me, even in my sleep, has the ranch burning to the ground, my men in bloody tatters, all while some shadowy pony figure looks over it all. I can't tell what they look like, I can't even tell if they're a regular, a unicorn or even a flying one. Its stare pierces my soul every time."
  1312. 1312.
    >In a vulgar display of her social ineptitude, Twilight quickly chimes in to correct the clearly distraught human
  1313. 1313.
"In our world they're called Earth ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi respectively-"
  1314. 1314.
"Damn it Purple! I don't care what they're called!"
  1315. 1315.
    >Jeff lashes out before grabbing his coffee once more for another cup.
  1316. 1316.
    >Twilight blushes with embarrassment as the boots trudge down the hall
  1317. 1317.
"Im sorry, but back on topic, interesting you can't tell what the pony is from the visions. You said they were vivid though so why can't you remember what the pony looks like?"
  1318. 1318.
    >Twilight asks raising her voice so that Jeff may hear from the kitchen
  1319. 1319.
    >Returning with a topped up cup and trembling hands jeff takes his seat once more
  1320. 1320.
"It depends on how close i am to the portal. I hardly make the trek up to it ever considering i-"
  1321. 1321.
    >Jeff considers if he may be saying too much
  1322. 1322.
    >Given how friendly and helpful Twilight has been so far, he cannot help but to believe there is a raport building between them
  1323. 1323.
"When i get close to the portal, my hold on reality tends to slip. I've had several of my guys point this out before"
  1324. 1324.
    >Twilight tries to piece together what may be happening to Jeff
  1325. 1325.
    >vague descriptions of visions and reality distortion hardly give her any leads
  1326. 1326.
"I think if I'm going to learn anything i may need a detailed description of one of these visions. May i accompany you to the portal to see what the visions are about?"
  1327. 1327.
    >Twilight shyly asks expecting a firm rejection considering how much effort was put into taking her from Equestria in the first place
  1328. 1328.
    >Jeff considers the offer. While he's looking for answers for his visions he can't be sure if purple will make a break for it while he is actively struggling to maintain a grip on reality
  1329. 1329.
    >Jeff gives Twilight a suspicious scowl
  1330. 1330.
    >He wants to maintain decorum between them and extend another hand in goodwill
  1331. 1331.
"Do i have your word that you will not attempt to escape princess?"
  1332. 1332.
    >Twilight, despite it being her duty to escape feels the fate of Equestria lies in her hooves
  1333. 1333.
    >She must make sure this human trusts her enough to never use the portal
  1334. 1334.
    >For the fate of Equestria, she swallows her pride once more
  1335. 1335.
"As the Princess of Friendship, you have my word. I just hope some mutual trust will go a long way in making sure everypony is safe."
  1336. 1336.
    >Jeff feels at ease with Twilight, despite everything he's done, enslaving her kind, kidnapping her, and calling her names, tagging her like cattle, despite everything she is still amicable
  1337. 1337.
    >Jeff takes a breath and finishes his last cup of coffee
  1338. 1338.
"You keep me to my word, I'll keep you to yours. We will go to the portal tonight and i will tell you everything i see, and hopefully we will come to a mutual understanding. That sound good to you Princess?"
  1339. 1339.
    >With a smile Twilight glows with hope
  1340. 1340.
    >maybe there can be a peaceful resolution after all,
  1341. 1341.
    >She dreams of all the ponies brought home, their worlds safe from King Mahrek.
  1342. 1342.
"That sounds wonderful, I can't wait. Maybe we can finally shed some light on this mystery"
  1343. 1343.
    >Even Jeff gets a smile, even if this only ends the visions, he would be happy
  1344. 1344.
"Well then, i look forward to it princess, I'll have to come back for you this evening, till then I'll have to keep you locked up in here, it'll be more comfortable than the stables atleast."
  1345. 1345.
    >There's a knock on the door as Jeff gets up with annoyance
  1346. 1346.
"Oh, what now! Can't those mouth breathers go 2 seconds without my input"
  1347. 1347.
    >He opens the door to see a nervous ranch hand with a particularly excited teal mare
  1348. 1348.
"Well, out with it, the hell you want Chris?"
  1349. 1349.
    >Twilight looks over to see Lyra giddy with delight
  1350. 1350.
"I don't have an explanation for it boss but uh, i was on my way to the town and uh this one started following me"
  1351. 1351.
    >Jeff looks down at Lyra trying to nose her way in to see what a human house looks like
  1352. 1352.
"Does she know what this is about?"
  1353. 1353.
    >Chris stammers just pointing to her
  1354. 1354.
"I don't know what's wrong with this one, i told her i was going to make her a pet and she started following me. Its uh, kinda adorable, i was wondering if i could uh, keep her?
  1355. 1355.
    >Jeff pinches his eyebrows with frustration
  1356. 1356.
"No, put her in the stables with the others and claim your bounty"
  1357. 1357.
    >Despite the pleading from the pony and ranch hand Jeff closes the door looking over to Twilight shuffling in her chair pretending to have not noticed
  1358. 1358.
"Do you know that one princess?"
  1359. 1359.
    >Twilight taps her hooves together
  1360. 1360.
    "That's Lyra, she's a bit...fascinated with humans"
  1361. 1361.
    >Jeff nods with understanding
  1362. 1362.
"I see, I'll be back later Princess"
  1363. 1363.
    >Jeff explains going back to his business on the ranch
  1364. 1364.
    >Shining Armor looks up to the sky
  1365. 1365.
    >He's confident his little sister could manage a few humans
  1366. 1366.
    >However as he pants and catches his breath crossing into Ponyville he finds the few remnants of his Royal guard
  1367. 1367.
    >With ponies rushing around trying to evacuate, Shining sighs with relief knowing the message had gotten through
  1368. 1368.
    >With Twilight nowhere to be found and the guards frantically discussing something among themselves Shining Armor finally sets the sleeping Applejack down
  1369. 1369.
    >He wishes he could make sure AJ was safe at sweet apple acres however with the humans bearing down on Ponyville, he doesn't have a second to waste
  1370. 1370.
    >He rushes over to the unit to put together the plan
  1371. 1371.
    >Taking off his helmet, he addresses his guard
  1372. 1372.
"Fall in! Glad you all made it safe, we need to get the town ready for defense, the humans are moving faster than me could have anticipated. Did we get the reinforcements?"
  1373. 1373.
    >Shining asks desperate to get up to speed on the preparations
  1374. 1374.
"We started the evacuation just like you asked Captain!"
  1375. 1375.
    >One Pegasi guard responds still trembling from the battle at the portal
  1376. 1376.
"The reinforcements are on the next train bound for Ponyville, captain. 6 divisions in total"
  1377. 1377.
    >Sighing with relief Shining takes stock of the situation
  1378. 1378.
"That's all excellent news! Where's Twilight? We need to make a plan on stopping the humans"
  1379. 1379.
    >His guard unit waivers in their salute
  1380. 1380.
    >Two in particular have their lips tremble
  1381. 1381.
"Captain, im sorry...we were... surrounded by humans, and Twilight saved us. She told us to run and we did. SHE WAS FLYING RIGHT BEHIND US! but she wasn't there when we got back to Ponyville. I don't know where she went Captain, im sorry!"
  1382. 1382.
    >Shining Armor stumbles in disbelief
  1383. 1383.
    >He doesn't even want to consider the possibility
  1384. 1384.
    "You don't think Twilight was..."
  1385. 1385.
    >Shining's heart pounds with fear
  1386. 1386.
    >Feeling the immense guilt from his cowardice, the guard breaks down dropping his salute
  1387. 1387.
    >Shining clenches his teeth as he holds back his rage
  1388. 1388.
    >The humans have Twilight
  1389. 1389.
    >Those no good rotten humans got her!
  1390. 1390.
    >Despite his rage, Shining Armor stamps his hooves to gain his guard's attention
  1391. 1391.
"Its not your fault. Twilight would just be glad everypony got here safe but we can't give up."
  1392. 1392.
    >Shining Armor looks across the river to the Everfree Forest and lets his rage boil over
  1393. 1393.
"That's why we have to be ready for them! They're coming and they will not stop till everypony is taken away and made a pet. We have to take them on here and now! No mercy, there's no such thing as a good human!"
  1394. 1394.
    >Shining Armor hears the whistle of the train arriving in Ponyville
  1395. 1395.
    >With dozens of royal guard unicorns and Pegasi and plenty of Ponyville volunteers, Shining gets a plan together
  1396. 1396.
"We need to capture as many humans as possible, if we funnel them into the square and destroy the bridge they won't be able to escape"
  1397. 1397.
    >Shining Armor explains putting his helmet on and getting ready to take command of the reinforcements
  1398. 1398.
"We have to win, for Twilight!"
  1399. 1399.
    >The cold is enough to make Twilight shiver
  1400. 1400.
    >Jeff shrugs off the cold with indifference as he leads the way to the portal
  1401. 1401.
"This way Princess, it's up this trail"
  1402. 1402.
    >Jeff explains as Twilight follows closely behind
  1403. 1403.
"So how far away can you hear it? Is it a you have to be really close to it sort of thing or can it just speak to you whenever?"
  1404. 1404.
    >Trudging up the gentle incline Jeff can already hear the ancient ponish drifting on the wind
  1405. 1405.
"Some days it's stronger than others. The visions always seem to get me though no matter how far i am from it. I can hear it now actually"
  1406. 1406.
    >Twilight quickly trots to Jeffs side
  1407. 1407.
    "Really? What does it say?"
  1408. 1408.
    >In the spirit of honesty and understanding Jeff answers truthfully
  1409. 1409.
"It's telling me to pursue my destiny, and telling me how powerful i can be."
  1410. 1410.
    >Jeff feels his blood pressure spike as the feelings of desire start to become overwhelming
  1411. 1411.
"Just tell me if it becomes too much for you, we can leave. Hopefully we can see these visions before we go. Im really curious to see what it's telling you"
  1412. 1412.
    >As the portal comes into sight the runes softly glow as if to acknowledge Jeff's presence
  1413. 1413.
    >He takes a breath and prepares himself for the visions
  1414. 1414.
    >The rush he feels is unlike anything he ever felt before
  1415. 1415.
    >As the ancient ponish wants its way into his ears he groans with satisfaction
  1416. 1416.
"I think it's coming Princess, i think i see something"
  1417. 1417.
    >Jeff explains giving in to the whims of the portal
  1418. 1418.
    >Twilight hangs on the human's every word
  1419. 1419.
    >Every detail could spell the difference between peace and devastation
  1420. 1420.
    >She must understand it all
  1421. 1421.
    "What do you see?"
  1422. 1422.
    >Jeff's memory is stired as he sees visions of things come to pass
  1423. 1423.
"I see, ponies and i see ponyville. Your castle."
  1424. 1424.
    >Despite Jeff never having been through the portal, and no human even setting eyes on Ponyville, his knowledge of the landscape frightens Twilight
  1425. 1425.
    "What else do you see?"
  1426. 1426.
    >Jeff smiles nearly stumbling as he steps towards the portal
  1427. 1427.
"Riches beyond compare, ponies cowering before me at the end of my lead"
  1428. 1428.
    >Jeff continues as Twilight stands between the dissociating human and the portal
  1429. 1429.
"Are these things that happened already?"
  1430. 1430.
    >Twilight asks trying to understand what he's talking about
  1431. 1431.
"The portal never lies Twilight Sparkle, the one it speaks to will always get their deepest, darkest, desires met."
  1432. 1432.
    >Twilight groans with worry stamping on Jeffs boot
  1433. 1433.
"Jeff? You're losing it! You warned me about this, what do i do?"
  1434. 1434.
    >Jeffs vision rapidly changes, his face turns to terror as he stumbles away from the portal.
  1435. 1435.
    >Images of bloodied men flowing from the portal, the buildings around the ranch up in flames
  1436. 1436.
    >Towering overhead with glowing eyes is the pony figure gazing down on him
  1437. 1437.
    "NO! Its the shadow pony"
  1438. 1438.
    >Twilight grows increasingly concerned as Jeff groans and wails
  1439. 1439.
"What do you see, i need to know, quickly!"
  1440. 1440.
    >Jeff grabs Twilight with force hurting her with his grip
  1441. 1441.
"I see my men, screaming, my ranch in flames! and the shadow pony!"
  1442. 1442.
    >Twilight takes the warnings deathly seriously
  1443. 1443.
    >Anypony that brings these events to pass will surely doom all of Equestria and free King Mahrek
  1444. 1444.
"Who is it! What color is their mane, their coat, do you see a cutie mark!? What kind of pony are they?"
  1445. 1445.
    >Twilight asks her desperation becoming more palpable by the second
  1446. 1446.
    >Jeff's eyes widen as the shadowy pony raises it's horn and spreads it's wings.
  1447. 1447.
    "Purple, it's purple! It's...YOU!"
  1448. 1448.
    >Jeff screams in rage
  1449. 1449.
    >The portal shrieks it's warning to Jeff
  1450. 1450.
    >Do not let this pony stop you. The portal cryptically warns as Jeff falls to the ground in agony
  1451. 1451.
    >Twilight gasps in disbelief. The portal says im going to do this? She asks herself
  1452. 1452.
"Hooves! Hooves! I need to cross the portal now!
  1453. 1453.
    >He screams out frantically clawing for the portal
  1454. 1454.
    >She can see it in Jeffs strained eyes and dilated pupils, he is being consumed by the portal
  1455. 1455.
    >Using her limited magic strength, she is able to lift Jeff onto her back
  1456. 1456.
    >Despite the groaning and frantic yelling she struggles down the trail
  1457. 1457.
    >As the distance increases from the portal Jeff slowly regains his senses and brings himself back to a quiet calm
  1458. 1458.
    >Trembling from withdrawal and ready to vomit, he rides on the pony's back trying to remember what he saw
  1459. 1459.
    >As Twilight dutifully carries him back to his house, he tries to make sense of the vision
  1460. 1460.
    >Why her? She seems so level headed, how could she bring all that destruction
  1461. 1461.
    >As Twilight brings him to his door he slowly brings himself to the ground gasping for air
  1462. 1462.
"Jeff, are you alright? I think you started slipping. I had to take you back as you stopped making-"
  1463. 1463.
    >Jeff angrily grabs Twilight by her mane
  1464. 1464.
"Its you! You were the pony haunting my visions. There's a reason the portal warned of you by name"
  1465. 1465.
    >Twilight yells out in pain as Jeff drags her inside the house and throws her to the floor
  1466. 1466.
"What? I would never do such a thing. The portal has to be wrong."
  1467. 1467.
    >Jeff yells over Twilight letting his rage fly
  1468. 1468.
"You think, I'd believe you princess? The visions have never been wrong. Every detail down to the leaves on the trees has been correct and it has warned me of you from day one! Even with you in my possession, the portal warns me of this impending doom."
  1469. 1469.
    >Twilight desperately seeks any means of reconciliation as any hope of peaceful resolution vanishes before her very eyes
  1470. 1470.
"No, Jeff, the portal is using you. I want-"
  1471. 1471.
"Shut it, i know you want all your pony friends to be let go and you will do it by anymeans necessary. Admit it!"
  1472. 1472.
    >Jeff demands clearly building up to another violent outburst
  1473. 1473.
    >Twilight lowers her head as Jeff continues
  1474. 1474.
"You've probably been scheming the entire time to make that happen too!"
  1475. 1475.
    >Twilight concedes
  1476. 1476.
"Yes, i want everypony to be free, but i wanted to do it peacefully so nopony would get hurt, Jeff I'm-"
  1477. 1477.
"You want to take my ponies, my land, and my wealth and burn it all to the ground for good measure. Is that it? Sure sounds peaceful to me you lying Purple bitch! Kill all my guys while you're at it!"
  1478. 1478.
"Jeff! We can do it peacefully. Just listen-"
  1479. 1479.
    >Jeff kicks Twilight back to the floor as she tries to get to her hooves
  1480. 1480.
"Oh, i think I've done enough listening to you Princess."
  1481. 1481.
    >Twilight groans in pain staying on the floor as Jeff leaves the room
  1482. 1482.
    >With the discussion over, Twilight wrestles with the grief of failing her fellow ponies
  1483. 1483.
    >Every attempt at being diplomatic, every hope she had for appealing to Jeff's conscience, all crumble before her
  1484. 1484.
    >As Jeff returns Twilight tries one more time to appeal to reason
  1485. 1485.
"Jeff, I don't know what that vision meant but you have my word, i would never do anything to make that happen!"
  1486. 1486.
    >She pleads with him before catching a glimpse of his revolver
  1487. 1487.
    >She remembers seeing something vaguely similar being held by the humans at the portal
  1488. 1488.
    >Was it another dart gun?
  1489. 1489.
    >Jeff loads a single round
  1490. 1490.
"Your word is a chance i cannot afford to take Princess."
  1491. 1491.
    >Twilight goes numb
  1492. 1492.
    >This isn't a dart gun
  1493. 1493.
    "Outside. Now!"
  1494. 1494.
    >Twilight fearfully complies stepping out into the frigid cold night
  1495. 1495.
    >With the barrel lowering to meet her head, her limited magic will do nothing to save her
  1496. 1496.
    >Are humans truely that irredeemable? She asks herself as she winces
  1497. 1497.
"Jeff, you have to trust me"
  1498. 1498.
    >Jeff's hand trembles
  1499. 1499.
    >I have to, it's the only way to save the ranch, he tells himself
  1500. 1500.
    >Has she done anything to violate my trust?
  1501. 1501.
    >What if she's right and the portal is using me
  1502. 1502.
    >I must be losing it still...she could have easily escaped while i was out but she didn't
  1503. 1503.
    >His breathing trembles as he lowers the gun with uncertainty
  1504. 1504.
    >There has to be a better way
  1505. 1505.
    "FUCK!"
  1506. 1506.
    >He screams into the night frantically unloading the gun
  1507. 1507.
"How can i know it's not you!"
  1508. 1508.
    >Twilight slowly examines every word before piecing together a reply
  1509. 1509.
"Jeff, I've been true to my word, i have not done a thing to break your trust. You have done your part too, you told me what i need to know about the portal. Let's use that trust for something new. Please, just promise me that you will trust me when i say i would never do anything that vision calls for, and i will trust you have everypony's best interests at heart. Can we agree on that?"
  1510. 1510.
    >Twilight asks shivering from the cold and the fright
  1511. 1511.
    >Jeff growls through his clenched teeth
  1512. 1512.
"I don't know about their best interests..."
  1513. 1513.
    >Jeff concedes trembling, sick from the anxiety of doubt
  1514. 1514.
"If having their best interests means no pony or man getting hurt, then yes, you have my word that's what what i want. I trust it's what you want too"
  1515. 1515.
    >Twilight sighs with relief, extremely upset with Jeff but thankful they were able to reach a new understanding
  1516. 1516.
    >You and the ponies crammed into the stable all watch the drama between Jeff and Twilight unfolding
  1517. 1517.
    >How could Twilight have become so defeated?
  1518. 1518.
    >Watching Twilight struggle under Jeffs weight when he rode her back and now watching Jeff hold her life in her hand demoralizes you
  1519. 1519.
    >The courts have failed you, your parents have failed you, and now Twilight has failed you
  1520. 1520.
    >Your anger wells up as you can't stand the repeat disappointment
  1521. 1521.
    >You summon your pride and try to fight back against the demoralization
  1522. 1522.
    >Applebloom stamps her hooves on your back looking out the window
  1523. 1523.
"He can't treat her like that! We have to do something!"
  1524. 1524.
    >Applebloom yells out as the crowded stables start to murmur
  1525. 1525.
"Applebloom is right! Humans aren't that strong, if we fight together, we can beat the humans!"
  1526. 1526.
    >You cheer as the hooves start to stamp in the stables
  1527. 1527.
"Nopony is coming to save us! We have to fight for ourselves and for Twilight!"
  1528. 1528.
"But how, we don't have magic, we can't fly either. Doesn't change that we are all locked in here anyway"
  1529. 1529.
    >An unfamiliar voice yells out dulling the enthusiasm of the ponies
  1530. 1530.
    >You feel the doubt hit once again. You've been angry and sounded the drum of war but to no avail. This is no different. They're all locked down, guards stand outside the door and who knows how many humans between here and the portal
  1531. 1531.
"We can't give up hope! We have to escape"
  1532. 1532.
    >The doubting pony pipes up once more
  1533. 1533.
"Shut up Nonny before the guards come in here and start whipping"
  1534. 1534.
    >You gasp in offense stammering before realizing the enthusiasm is dead.
  1535. 1535.
    >Who am i kidding, we're doomed. Its all going to be saddles and harnesses for us and we know it. You whine to yourself
  1536. 1536.
    >You keep looking out the window
  1537. 1537.
    >You see Twilight and Jeff seem to be discussing something as a frantic ranch hand runs up to them
  1538. 1538.
"Jeff, it's bad, it's bad, the guys got attacked"
  1539. 1539.
    >A single fuck rings out across the ranch as Jeff runs to the portal dragging Twilight along
  1540. 1540.
    >Even the stable guards are drawn away to the screaming and yelling heard off in the distance
  1541. 1541.
    >What's happening? Murmurs across the stables
  1542. 1542.
    >The silence starts to seep back in as the confusion mounts
  1543. 1543.
    >What's happening out there?
  1544. 1544.
    >What are the humans freaking out about
  1545. 1545.
    >You hear the sounds of tires on the gravel and the exhaust of a car that you thought you'd never hear again
  1546. 1546.
    >Is that the Ranchero?
  1547. 1547.
    >The stable door cracks open and shuts behind
  1548. 1548.
    >The ponies all back away in fear wondering who it could be
  1549. 1549.
    "Michael? Where are you?"
  1550. 1550.
    >You struggle with disbelief it can't be, you tell yourself
  1551. 1551.
    >You force your way tto the door past the other ponies crammed into the stall
  1552. 1552.
    >You crane your neck trying to look over the door
  1553. 1553.
    >The last time you heard him was a phone call with the attorney
  1554. 1554.
    >Seemed like ages ago
  1555. 1555.
"Dad? Dad im in here! What are you doing here?"
  1556. 1556.
    >The stable door opens as you’re instantly bodied by your adoring father
  1557. 1557.
    >He lovingly holds you in his embrace hugging you tight
  1558. 1558.
"Like hell im gonna let some fucking bullshit judge say I can't have my son! I came ready for war!"
  1559. 1559.
    >You break the embrace excited to finally escape but seeing all the ponies sticking their heads up to see makes you feel guilty
  1560. 1560.
"Do you even have a plan? Did you think you could just roll up take me and leave?"
  1561. 1561.
    >Miguel chuckles
  1562. 1562.
"Hell no! I was going to make a diversion but nobody's here. Where the fuck they at?"
  1563. 1563.
    >You wonder what the ranch hands could have been freaking out about and what they could have been drawn away to
  1564. 1564.
"Dad it's a long story but i need your help, we need to free these ponies"
  1565. 1565.
    >You stop in your tracks as the stable door opens
  1566. 1566.
    > Sitting there waiting is the Ranchero with mom in the drivers seat ready for a quick get away
  1567. 1567.
    >You gaze in awe for a moment before shaking it out of your mind
  1568. 1568.
"What? No, get in the bed Michael, we need to get out before they come back"
  1569. 1569.
    >He explains with the Ranchero patiently waiting for him
  1570. 1570.
"No! These ponies are just as home sick as i am, we need to help them too"
  1571. 1571.
    >you explain hesitating to leave the stall
  1572. 1572.
“We don’t have time for this Michael, get in the car.”
  1573. 1573.
    >You speak up breaking the hushed conversation.
  1574. 1574.
"Even if i escape, they'll look for me and if they find me, they can take me back. The court says I’m property here. I have to go to Equestria, Its the only way I'll ever be free and I’ll never forgive myself if I don’t take everypony with me."
  1575. 1575.
    >You lower your head in shame hindering the escape
  1576. 1576.

  1577. 1577.
    >Refusing to be separated from his son once again, Miguel insists
  1578. 1578.
"We don't have time for this Michael, Uncle Robert is going to take you to his ranch and you can hide there"
  1579. 1579.
    >You stand your ground
  1580. 1580.
    >You want to show your fellow ponies the brighter side of humans
  1581. 1581.
    >Maybe if one human showed these ponies kindness it can bring them some peace
  1582. 1582.
"Dad, I don't know if there is a future for me here in the human world anymore. I need to go back to Equestria with everypony else, no other way about it..."
  1583. 1583.
    >Miguel starts to breathe heavily trying to process his grief
  1584. 1584.
    >He remembers the cruel words the judge delivered in their verdict
  1585. 1585.
    >My son, is a person, they have dreams and ambitions just like all of us
  1586. 1586.
    >He tells himself before conceding
  1587. 1587.
"If that's what you want, I won't stop you but im not losing my son again. Im going with you"
  1588. 1588.
    >You take a step back in disbelief
  1589. 1589.
    >The joy of having your family with you in Equestria is too much to bear as you throw your hooves around your dad
  1590. 1590.
    >Despite the tender moment together you get to work
  1591. 1591.
"We don't have much time, we need to get these ponies out, we will also need a distraction."
  1592. 1592.
    >Miguel chuckles somewhat out of embarrassment
  1593. 1593.
"I told you, im ready for war. Punk ass judge threw my ass in jail for contempt, i told him next time he sees me it'll be something worth throwing me in jail for"
  1594. 1594.
    >The latches come undone on the stable doors and the ponies quietly start milling about
  1595. 1595.
    >With the ponies freed, your curiosity starts to get the better of you
  1596. 1596.
"You don't mean you're gonna kill them right?"
  1597. 1597.
    >You nervously ask almost afraid to see what he means
  1598. 1598.
    >Grinning ear to ear opening the door to the stables, he pulls out several large containers of gas out of the bed of the Ranchero
  1599. 1599.
"If you need a distraction, I've got it right here"
  1600. 1600.
    >He looks to his wife and brother both waiting in the truck
  1601. 1601.
    >He knew he was ready to go away for a long time, but going to a different world was something he wasn't ready for
  1602. 1602.
    >Surprised by the sheer numbers of ponies, Maria gets out of the car
  1603. 1603.
"Miguel, what are you doing? We can't take them all"
  1604. 1604.
    >Giving his wife a goodbye kiss, he explains himself
  1605. 1605.
"Im sorry, i know we talked about it. I am ready for prison but, Michael isn't coming with us. He wants to go back to the pony place. Im going with him"
  1606. 1606.
    >She raises her voice, feeling betrayed unable to believe what she's hearing
  1607. 1607.
"What do you mean? The reason I agreed to do this was so we could all be together again."
  1608. 1608.
    >Miguel holds his wife tight giving her a kiss
  1609. 1609.
"Im sorry, its Michaels decision. I figured i can go with him and probably stay out of jail atleast.-"
  1610. 1610.
    >Maria shoves Miguel back letting her rage flow
  1611. 1611.
"Oh no! you think you can get away with leaving without me here? I want him back more than anything and ill wind up in jail too because of your dumbass plan. If the horse world is where you two are going, i am going too, no question!"
  1612. 1612.
    >Maria passionately yells as she crosses her arms defiantly
  1613. 1613.
    >You butt your head against mom
  1614. 1614.
    >Hearing them talk about coming with you to Equestria fills you with anxiety and a cautious joy
  1615. 1615.
    >You wonder what will happen to them being humans in equestria after the human attacks but whatever it is, it can't be any worse than prison
  1616. 1616.
"Can you handle it? There won't be any humans there, it'll be a strange world with magic, flight and all kinds of strange creatures."
  1617. 1617.
    >Your parents kneel down and surround you in their embrace
  1618. 1618.
"Oh Michael, it doesn't matter where we go, as long as we have our family."
  1619. 1619.
    >Maria whispers as you sniffle with joy
  1620. 1620.
    "I love you guys"
  1621. 1621.
    >You tearfully smile as Robert breaks the moment
  1622. 1622.
"Yo, Miguel, what are we doing, are you staying or going?"
  1623. 1623.
    >Robert asks as his anxiety builds carefully keeping watch for ranchhands
  1624. 1624.
    >Miguel gives his brother a hug and pats him on the back
  1625. 1625.
"We're going, thank you so much for everything. I don't know if I'll ever see you again"
  1626. 1626.
    >Miguel fearfully admits as he joins his family
  1627. 1627.
"If that's what you want...i hope I'll see you again some day"
  1628. 1628.
    >Robert holds his sorrow as he climbs into the Ranchero and starts up the car
  1629. 1629.
    >With a wave the Ranchero turns and leaves the ranch
  1630. 1630.
    >With that one last link to the human world gone, you look towards the trail to the portal
  1631. 1631.
"This is it, we need to get all these ponies to the portal. The only way we can do that is with a distraction."
  1632. 1632.
    >Picking up one of the 5 gallon jugs of gasoline, Miguel heads back into the stables
  1633. 1633.
    "No problem, i got this"
  1634. 1634.
    >All the ponies quietly murmur among themselves as he starts dumping the gasoline all over the straw and the wooden walls
  1635. 1635.
"What's that smell? What's he dumping?"
  1636. 1636.
    >The ponies ask as the stables light up in flames
  1637. 1637.
    >The ponies gasp in surprise and back away from the bright flames
  1638. 1638.
    >The violence and destruction from even a "good" human stuns even the few royal guards
  1639. 1639.
    >Cheering with a massive ear to ear grin, he picks up another gas can
  1640. 1640.
"What's that over there? Is that Cowboy's house?
  1641. 1641.
    >You happily trot along excited to participate
  1642. 1642.
"Yep, and that's the garage over there, save some for the shed too!"
  1643. 1643.
    >You cheerfully add as Maria starts to herd all the ponies to safety
  1644. 1644.
"Be careful, I don't want you to get burned"
  1645. 1645.
    >You have a laugh trotting up the Jeff's house
  1646. 1646.
    "We will mama!"
  1647. 1647.
    >With the ponies all on their way to safety and the ranch up in flames, you look to the trail to the portal with anticipation
  1648. 1648.
    >The flames glisten in your eyes as the ranch glows warming you in the cold night
  1649. 1649.
"Let's get with the others, we need to be ready to cross the portal!"
  1650. 1650.
    >You explain pushing your dad along to the trail
  1651. 1651.
    >Jeff catches his breath getting a glimpse of the carnage at the portal
  1652. 1652.
    >The men limping through are badly beaten and bloodied
  1653. 1653.
    >Jeffs jaw trembles
  1654. 1654.
    >Its exactly as he saw in the vision but Twilight was with him the entire time
  1655. 1655.
    >Jeff bites down on his hand leaving marks as he tries to being himself back to reality
  1656. 1656.
    >What remains of his wiped out men kiss the ground thankful to have made it back to their world
  1657. 1657.
    >Twilight cautiously and quietly trots up alongside her mere presence frightening the ranchhands
  1658. 1658.
    >Jeff looks down at Twilight with pure distain before turning to one of the senior Ranch hands
  1659. 1659.
    >He yanks the weaping man off the ground
  1660. 1660.
"Damn it, what the hell happened, you had them on the run! You had the guns, you had everything. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED"
  1661. 1661.
    >The ranchhand howls in despair recalling the ambush
  1662. 1662.
"It was the ponies man, we entered the town the we were trapped. They took out the bridge, and swarmed us, it was a ruthless stampede, guys were getting snatched up left and right. We had to leave the ATVs behind. The flying ponies chased us all the way back to the portal, we're all that's left."
  1663. 1663.
    >He explains as a couple more shuffle through the portal
  1664. 1664.
    >Jeff drops the man as he nearly stumbles to the ground
  1665. 1665.
    >The portal whispers to him warning him of the danger of Twilight but he refuses to listen
  1666. 1666.
"Yall are some sad pathetic little shits. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU LOST TO PONIES!? We were collecting them left and right and now you're saying you can't win?"
  1667. 1667.
    >One ranchhand manages to speak up despite a buck straight to the ribs
  1668. 1668.
"Jeff, their magic is so much stronger than we could have ever guessed. Even the regular ones have some like super strength."
  1669. 1669.
    >Jeff growls as another outburst builds
  1670. 1670.
"You have dart guns, and hell, real guns. Yall are gonna get yourselves cleaned up and ready to fight the ponies again tomorrow, we cannot afford to lose"
  1671. 1671.
    >The ranchhand lashes out
  1672. 1672.
"Don't you have enough ponies boss? I mean, there has to be over a dozen of our guys trapped there."
  1673. 1673.
    >He sniffles and collapses onto the ground again
  1674. 1674.
"You don't know what it was like man, i saw 300 pound guys get lassoed, i had to cross an icey cold raging river and run through miles of deadly forest. To get back here. Im not going back!"
  1675. 1675.
    >He weeps as Jeff explodes kn the men
  1676. 1676.
"If you think we're just going to give up right here you're sorely mistaken. If you don't march right back through that portal, i will not hesitate to fire your asses!"
  1677. 1677.
    >Jeff screams as a silence rings over the forest
  1678. 1678.
    >A ranch hand shuffles to his feet, and starts to leave
  1679. 1679.
    >Jeff stares him down as the defeated ranch hand sighs
  1680. 1680.
"I can't Jeff...After what i saw, i think im lucky to be alive."
  1681. 1681.
    >Jeff feels threatened as more and more get up and leave
  1682. 1682.
"If you leave now, you can forget your bounties!"
  1683. 1683.
    >Jeff proudly proclaims as not even money can move these men
  1684. 1684.
    >He glances over to Twilight stewing in his anger before turning away
  1685. 1685.
    >The first of the awful visions have come to pass and he was utterly powerless to stop it
  1686. 1686.
    >His fist trembles thinking about the second vision, flames roaring across the ranch
  1687. 1687.
    >If anything can be done, it has to be now
  1688. 1688.
    >Twilight, braves the potential for violence and nudges Jeffs clenched fist
  1689. 1689.
    >Jeff angrily swats her away
  1690. 1690.
    >Undeterred, on a mission for peace, she tries again
  1691. 1691.
    >Despite Twilight's reassuring embrace, Jeff's pride burns in his chest
  1692. 1692.
    >He strokes Twilight's mane taking a breath to accept his position
  1693. 1693.
"You win Princess...if there's a way to make things right, I'll do it..."
  1694. 1694.
    >Jeff sighs casting away his pride
  1695. 1695.
"If we can make a deal that makes everyone happy, I'll work for it"
  1696. 1696.
    >Jeff explains
  1697. 1697.
    >Twilight beams with joy albeit cautiously
  1698. 1698.
    >She doesn't want to give Jeff the impression of being smug or victorious
  1699. 1699.
"It's a tough decision but im sure we can mend bridges between the humans and ponies and we can work together so every(one) is happy"
  1700. 1700.
    >Twilight cheerfully explains happy to make some progress
  1701. 1701.
"Well, what do you propose we do, I'll follow your lead Princess."
  1702. 1702.
    >Twilight starts to think and a short list of a few ponies comes to mind
  1703. 1703.
"I think we should start with an exchange, one pony in particular, Applebloom is a sore spot for many ponies, her coming back would go a long way to making everypony happy"
  1704. 1704.
    >Twilight explains trying to stop herself from trotting in place
  1705. 1705.
    >Jeff thinks about the little filly with the bow
  1706. 1706.
"That one is cute, she's over in the stables."
  1707. 1707.
    >With Jeff unable to cross the portal he tries to think about the best way to do this logistically
  1708. 1708.
"If i let her go, you'll take her to your ponies and ask for peace?"
  1709. 1709.
    >Jeff asks still harboring suspicion for the purple pony
  1710. 1710.
"Yep, I'll honor my word, I'll do anything in my power to make sure there is a peaceful resolution"
  1711. 1711.
    >Twilight explains as her joy is becoming more difficult to hide
  1712. 1712.
    >Jeff groans with annoyance being forced to negotiate with ponies
  1713. 1713.
"Whatever it takes for peace i guess"
  1714. 1714.
    >Jeff concedes as he starts to walk down the trail back to the ranch
  1715. 1715.
    >With Jeff's back turned Twilight's wings pop with an explosion of quiet celebration
  1716. 1716.
    >There may be peace after all! Twilight thinks to herself raising her head high once more
  1717. 1717.
    >With a smile bursting with accomplishment, she may finally be able to look everypony in the eye once more
  1718. 1718.
    >As they continue down the trail, Jeff sniffs a peculiar smell
  1719. 1719.
    >The smell of smoke
  1720. 1720.
    >Strange given winter is well out of season for wild fires
  1721. 1721.
    >He hears yelling from the ranch hands
  1722. 1722.
    >His stride is hurried
  1723. 1723.
    >He sees the glow through the trees and his face turns pale
  1724. 1724.
    >Leaving Twilight behind he rushes down to the end of the trail
  1725. 1725.
    >Twilight, fearing she may be to late to reverse the visions rushes in behind him before being stunned by the devastation before her
  1726. 1726.
    >Twilight rushes to the stables fearing for everypony's lives
  1727. 1727.
    >What few ranch hands remain physically able attempt to fight the blaze but it's far too late
  1728. 1728.
    >Jeff faints, his entire life's work is gone. His house, garage, and stables once filled with ponies all up in roaring flames
  1729. 1729.
    >The heat roasts his skin as he helps himself to the ground
  1730. 1730.
    >The scene around him plays out just like the visions said
  1731. 1731.
    >Every last thing he cared about gone
  1732. 1732.
    >Twilight trots back to Jeff's side
  1733. 1733.
"The stables are empty, I'm just glad nopony got hurt"
  1734. 1734.
    >Jeff's vacant stare terrifies her
  1735. 1735.
"Jeff, don't worry, we will help fix this. Everything is going to be alright"
  1736. 1736.
    >Jeff is hardly capable of any emotion much less rage
  1737. 1737.
    >He finally drags himself off the ground
  1738. 1738.
"No...no, you've made it clear you will do anything in your power to sabotage me princess."
  1739. 1739.
    >He accuses with his voice trembling
  1740. 1740.
"The portal is always right, it's never lead me astray and i was foolish enough to trust YOU over it"
  1741. 1741.
    >Twilight backs away in fear
  1742. 1742.
"Jeff, i was with you the entire night, i had nothing to do with this, you have to believe me."
  1743. 1743.
    >Jeff roars in frustration having enough of Twilight's innocent facade
  1744. 1744.
"I've done nothing but believe you, and it's brought me to ruin, i have nothing left!"
  1745. 1745.
    >Twilight desperately tries to reign Jeff back in and calm him down
  1746. 1746.
"Jeff, you have my word, i promised i would do anything to-"
  1747. 1747.
"The ponies are making a run for the portal!"
  1748. 1748.
    >A ranch hand screams spying the herd of bright pastel ponies sneaking through the forest
  1749. 1749.
    >Jeff rushes to the treeline as Twilight rushes to stop him
  1750. 1750.
"Jeff, stop! You don't have to do this! Just let them go. We will make things right!"
  1751. 1751.
    >Bolting through the darkness, Jeff eyes a slow Filly making their way to the clearing up to the portal
  1752. 1752.
    >Ignoring Twilight's plea he targets the little filly tackling her to the ground as the rest of the ponies rush for freedom
  1753. 1753.
    >Applebloom eyes the terrifying human menace in horror
  1754. 1754.
    >Screaming and crying she struggles under Jeff's weight
  1755. 1755.
    >Seeing all the ponies rush to freedom while she might remain trapped in the human world sends shivers through her little body
  1756. 1756.
    "Somepony help me!"
  1757. 1757.
    >Applebloom desperately screams reaching her hoof out to anypony around
  1758. 1758.
    >Jeff watches as the hundreds of ponies rush through the portal to freedom slipping through his fingers like grains of sand
  1759. 1759.
    >In his rage he kneels on the filly's neck
  1760. 1760.
"You're not going anywhere you little shit. Yall think you've won? I will just have to start over again, one by one!"
  1761. 1761.
    >Twilight catches up catching her breath
  1762. 1762.
    "Jeff, what are you doing?"
  1763. 1763.
    >Applebloom squirms under Jeff's knee
  1764. 1764.
    "Twilight! Help me!"
  1765. 1765.
    >Jeff puts more weight on the Filly's neck
  1766. 1766.
"Shut up little filly, you'll be fine. Im trying to keep my business going princess, and i need ponies to do it"
  1767. 1767.
    >Twilight shakes her head in frustration
  1768. 1768.
"Jeff, i told you, we can work things out together, everyone will be happy"
  1769. 1769.
    >Seeing the look of fear in the filly's eyes brings a sense of calm and order to Jeff
  1770. 1770.
"Its the principle of it princess, it's the natural order of things. I don't negotiate with ponies, i subjugate them"
  1771. 1771.
    >Twilight takes a step back unable to comprehend the depravity of his confession
  1772. 1772.
    >Applebloom quietly begs struggling to breathe under his knee
  1773. 1773.
"I'll do anything you ask, please let me go home"
  1774. 1774.
    >Jeff lashes out at the filly
  1775. 1775.

    >Twilight sinks into despair wondering if Celestia, Luna, or Cadance are even ok
  2220. 2220.
"Even the legends said it took all the alicorns united to trap Mahrek in his prison. Oh Nonny, what are we gonna do!"
  2221. 2221.
    >Your ears shoot up as you hear your parents call for you
  2222. 2222.
"Michael! You need to slow down! We can't keep up with you."
  2223. 2223.
    >Miguel explains taking a minute to breathe
  2224. 2224.
"We're not ponies, we can't keep up with all this walking"
  2225. 2225.
    >They explain ignoring the dirty stares from the suspicious ponies
  2226. 2226.
    >Twilight hears their words and has a realization
  2227. 2227.
    >Dozens of humans were captured in Ponyville
  2228. 2228.
    >If she could turn them into ponies then they could have a chance at distracting Mahrek long enough to break his spell
  2229. 2229.
    >Twilight briefly weighs the ethics of turning human prisoners into ponies
  2230. 2230.
    >The desperation quickly overides any concerns she has over morality
  2231. 2231.
    >King Mahrek must be stopped at all costs
  2232. 2232.
    >Sticking her head out of the bush she whispers to Nonny
  2233. 2233.
"Soooo Nonny, remember when you were initially asking me to turn you back into a human?"
  2234. 2234.
    >You shake your head in confusion
  2235. 2235.
"Not really no, why does that matter?"
  2236. 2236.
    >Twilight thinks of a way to put it all lightly however she decides to the point is prudent given the circumstances
  2237. 2237.
"We'll i have such an object that is supposed to do just that and the opposite. I know it sounds crazy, but i want to turn all the humans into ponies"
  2238. 2238.
    >You're appalled by the suggestion remembering how traumatic the experience of becoming a pony was
  2239. 2239.
    "What? Why would you suggest-"
  2240. 2240.
"Hear me out! We turn the humans into ponies and use them to trick Mahrek into believing i have been captured by spellbound ponies. Once im close enough and his guard is down, we drop the cover and i shatter the spell with a burst of magic. The rest of you will keep Mahrek distracted long enough for me to get the elements of harmony together. Its.a perfect plan!"
  2241. 2241.
    >Twilight explains with joy and hooves clapping together
  2242. 2242.
    >You gasp in disbelief at the plan
  2243. 2243.
    >You only got a glimpse of the massive centaur at the portal
  2244. 2244.
    >With a mere stomp of his hoof you are guaranteed to look like an empty tube of toothpaste
  2245. 2245.
"ARE YOU INSANE! what am i supposed to do against him, what are WE supposed to do against him?"
  2246. 2246.
    >Twilight stutters trying to think of a solution to the problem
  2247. 2247.
"Well, im sure atleast some of the humans will become Unicorns or Pegasi and they can help even more"
  2248. 2248.
    >Your voice carries as you express your fear with the plan
  2249. 2249.
"He looks like he can vaporize me with a snap of his fingers! You can leave me out of this! Im not gonna die for Equestria."
  2250. 2250.
    >You slowly back away joining with your family
  2251. 2251.
    >Twilight pokes her head from the bush once more
  2252. 2252.
"Wait, Nonny, please! I didn't mean for it to come out that way, i just. UGHHH! It's the only chance we have. I know I've failed everypony alot over the last few days. Between not realizing the pony disappearances were related to not being able to stop Jeff from releasing Mahrek, i desperately need to make things right."
  2253. 2253.
    >Her ears lower as she sees you embrace your parents
  2254. 2254.
"I want nothing more than to preserve the Equestria you've come to love Nonny. You and everypony else. If we are going to do this we will need all the help we can get"
  2255. 2255.
    >She turns to your parents with an optimistic smile
  2256. 2256.
"I know we haven't met, you must be Nonny's, or uh, Michael's parents. I know Equestria may not look very happy right now but you should see it when it's not in distress."
  2257. 2257.
    >Twilight jokes trying to make levity of the situation before making her big ask
  2258. 2258.
"Michael loves this land so much and missed you even more. I just wish you can see Equestria the way it's meant to be seen."
  2259. 2259.
    >Twilight takes a big breath even as you try to convince your parents to stop listening
  2260. 2260.
"Will you become ponies to help us stop Mahrek?"
  2261. 2261.
    >Twilight asks extending her hoof in friendship
  2262. 2262.
    >Your parents stroke your mane as they consider the offer
  2263. 2263.
"Michael, this land is all we got, we can't go back to the human world and it's half as nice as you say it is it's worth fighting for"
  2264. 2264.
    >Your dad explains as you stop him from shaking Twilight's hoof
  2265. 2265.
"What? You can't be serious. Did you not hear the part about vaporizing people with the snap of his fingers? It can happen here, magic like that is VERY real here!"
  2266. 2266.
    >You explain as your parents hug and walk around you to shake Twilight's hoof
  2267. 2267.
"Im talking just straight up Thanos snap! Poof, gone!"
  2268. 2268.
    >You desperately explain
  2269. 2269.
"Son, when i came up to get you, i was expecting to either be gunned down by cowboys, put in jail for the rest of my life or some other shit, im already on borrowed time and like hell im gonna let this Mahrek guy fuck with us!"
