The paper crackled, letting off a light orange glow as Applejack took a slow, deep breath, the soft ember glow growing brighter

Fluttershy glanced around, nervously looking at Rainbow Dash to her left

The soft orange glow illuminated AJ's face ever so slightly in the pale moonlight, as she finally exhaled a thick cloud of smoke

"Whoowhie, I'm tellin' ya rainbow, ya can't beat the homegrown bud"

"What? I never said that! I was just telling you, cloudsdale wax is better, it's just faster!"

"It's not always about how quick ya are, here here"

Applejack reached her hoof across to Rainbow, who snatched the blunt up quick

Fluttershy was almost kicked by the smell, once it came close enough, the stench hit her nostrils fast

It smelled almost as if the two more brazen mares had just pissed off a whole family of skunks

Thoughts raced through her head, was she really about to? It reeked! But she promised Applejack she would try it, after all, AJ spent so much time growing it and...

The horrid smell got even worse, snapping Fluttershy back to reality, Rainbow Dash had ALREADY taken her hit? Or was she distracted the whole time?

Dash was already holding it out, waiting for Fluttershy to take her turn

"Well, Fluttershy, here you go (COUGH COUGH) I-It's not that bad!"

Oh, even Rainbow looked like she was just choking, Fluttershy nervously reached her hoof out, wondering what she had gotten herself into this time

Just a few minutes ago, they were all having a great time at another one of Pinkie's late night parties

Now, they're sitting outside, the music's beat barely audible through the walls of Twilight's tree house

But to Fluttershy, that quiet music was almost deafening, the only noise she could hear as her two friends stared at her in anticipation, how long had it been?

Was she holding it just a few seconds? It felt like hours before Applejack leaned forward

"Ah it'a alright if you don't want to flutte-"

Fluttershy cut her off, impuslivley deciding to just do it, she put the joint in her mouth and sucked it back like a straw, trying to just mimic what she saw Aj do before

The orange embers glowed even brighter, dancing along the length of paper, slowly getting closer to her

Fluttershy's intrusive thoughts were made even worse as the smoke started to fill her lungs, did she just overdo it?

The joint burned closer to the end, and the heat getting to her hoof startling her, causing it all to snap as she opens her mouth to yelp, a huge cloud of smoke erupts

Fluttershy lets go of the burning blunt, dropping it on the ground as she recoils into a coughing fit. She DEFINITELY overdid it.

Applejack stomped out the last of the joint on the ground, then put her hoof up on Fluttershy's shoulder

"You alright?" She asked as fluttershy coughed a second time

The burning warmth in her throat brought her back to her first encounter with an adult dragon

The same uncomfortable feeling of inhaling the dragon's smoke is how she felt now, almost like her throat was on fire for a second, before it slowly subsided

And then, the muscles of her shoulders relaxed, the calming feeling running down her spine, branching out, and making it's way to the earth through each of her feet

Applejack had a concerned look on her face, staring at her

Applejack! Applejack had been there the whole time, waiting for a response, her facade starting to show worry as fluttershy sighed

"Haha... yeah, I'm alright... Applejack" She didn't even notice, but she stopped for a second mid-sentence

Applejack looked relieved, and then over at Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy sat down, and stared at the window of Twilight's tree house.

Inside, the party was still going, although now by candlelight. Fluttershy stared and stared at the candle on the table

The flame flickered, as if it was dancing to the music. It looked so happy, fluttershy thought to herself

She was oblivious to Rainbow Dash's snickering laughter, before AJ shoved Rainbow, muttering something back to her

Fluttershy looked over at Rainbow Dash, mumbling out a confused "humh?" to which she shrugged

"Nothin' Fluttershy.. hehe... N-"

Applejack frowned at RD, then finally said it

"She was laughin' at you fluttershy, ya look like you're more stoned than Rarity's ex boyfriend"

"huh? Rarity has an ex?"

"Ah come on, she was talking about tom!"

"haha.. huh ohh! haha..."

Fluttershy smiled, that was a funny joke. She had some great friends. she noticed that the music had stopped finally, and she heard a door open, then close

Glancing back at the window, it looks like Twilight was cleaning up inside.

She sighed again, she was glad to have such good friends, she was so anxious about this before, but now she realized it was nothing to be afraid of

"OOH! Are you girls SMOKING WEED??? And you did it without me!?"

"Ah, sorry Pinkie, Fluttershy finished it off already."

"Awww Fluttershy are you HIGH? Do you like it? Well? Do ya? Do ya?"

Fluttershy just nodded her head, thinking about heading home for the night, she glanced at the candle in the window once more

Twilight leaned forward, and then she blew out the candle.

Wrote this while listening to Counting Clouds*, and as a self identified professional stoner, I wanted to recapture the feeling of my first time smoking weed
72.
So I blazed a bowl and wrote this out in about two hours. Originally I had planned to have her smoking with Tree Hugger, but she's too much of a one dimensional character, plus I think that Applejack growing her own weed was funny, along with her being able to make Fluttershy more comfortable
